Hi lovelies

well today i went for my 6wk postnatal check up and because my smear was due in oct she did me a smear, well i screamed and begged for her to stop as it was agony to the point it made me cry, it was agony, i had a 8'7lb baby, had to have suction and to be cut, should it feel like this 6 weeks on? xx

You need to get checked Hun. I don't have any discomfort and haven't for a couple of weeks

I had forceps and cut and small tear. Do you feel pain all the time? A smear test is going to stretch you a bit if you are still slightly tender and a lot of people do say that it is still tender for a while so all could be fine. Just may be worth getting checked

I had a smear at my 6 week check and it was fine. I had 7lb 4 oz baby, ventous delivery with a second degree tear and a graze.

Did doc say anything in regards to you being in so much pain?

XX

i had a infection in my lady bits but couldnt take the antibiotics because im allergic to them snd while bf they brought my lo out in a rash, so stopped them, my bits have hurt alot since he was born, hurt to walk as it pounded down below, does ferl better but just so tender inside my lady bits xx

I was told you shouldn't have a smear until 6 months after birth! Unless that's just what my doctors say but I thought it was something to do with the changes your cervix goes through during pregnancy and labour can mess up results. Sorry you had to be put through so much pain x

I was told no smear til 3months after giving birth. I had mine last week n I was fine xx

hun i had an episiotomy and ventouse 3 weeks ago and i'm fine now so i think you need to be checked out, it should hurt this long after that badly xx

I think you should be checked.

I also thought you had to wait, I had an elective c-section this time and I've still been advised to wait until 3 months.
I had a smear after AJ's birth, I had stitches and forceps and it wasnt done until I was completely comfortable.

it was the dr who did thr smear, she didnt say much, just it looked red and sore :( worrys me because of cervical cancer xx

my swab results have come back and are neg :( so what can it be?? xx

I think you are still healing, perhaps there is still infection present and your smear was carried out way too early. I was told 3 months post birth and I just couldn't imagjne having a smear that soon! I had forceps and a 3rd degree tear, at 6 weeks I felt healed but everyone heals at different rates. My stitches in my bottom I was told could take as long as 8 weeks to competely heal as it is muscle that has been stitched, not tissue.
I think a check up is important, could you get in touch with your midwife you had to see if they were able to offer advice, or your HV?
So sorry to hear you had such a bad experience hun, biggest hugs! Xx

thanks sweetness,

it does worry me with my smear, ive booked to go back on tues to speak to another dr xx

Thats good, hope it goes ok! I thought that once baby was out that was everything done, didn't bank on the weeks of healing afterwards. Take care! xxx
