When I went to bed last night I was in agonising pain, it didn't come and go like contractions it was continual. Felt like I needed to go to the loo but then felt like there was nothing there tho go with. After a couple of hours of rolling around in discomfort I finally managed to go then the pain subsided and I managed to sleep. There was no spotting or bleeding or anything like that but today I have been terrified it might have been to do with junior. Don't really know as I have never suffered before but can constipation give you that much pain? Really worried now..................

I suffer with IBS and it all started from a gastrointestinal food poisoning that sounds just like what youre describing. Could you have eaten something dodgy? Hope everythings fine xx

I was sick too actually while the pain was going on but I wasn't sure if it was something I'd eaten or me getting myself wound up. I've been ok ish today, headachy and lethargic but didn't sleep much. Just hoping I'll feel a pop from junior as I'm worrying about him/her so much, but then i'm thinking surely I'd have had some kind of spotting or bleeding by now. x

whena a was pregnant with me son 6 years ago a had constipation and the pain was really bad a was sure was in labour the once a went to loo the pain dulled down a bit a think its perfectly normal but if u wanna no fone the 24 hr midwife x

Hello - i had something similar at around 11 weeks and it was fine after 48 hours - the pain was v. intense. I think it must have been more of a stomach bug. Hope you feel better soon - try not to worry x

I am thinking it was something digestive related rather than baby. But it was so painful, like labour.......... but not.

Constipation and wind really can be *that* painful, it could have been that. Check with your midwife if you're worried though :)

Thanks, I only had it for a coulpe of hours last night, I have calmed a bit now thankfully. A few people on here have said it can be that painful, never suffered before so didn't know. You lot are a godsend!!! xx

I've never personally had it that bad but my brother had really bad trapped wind and was rushed to hospital with suspected appendicitis so it can be really, really painful. Can totally understand why you are worried.

Hi Yorksmummy

How are you feeling now :hugs:

I have been through something similar when I was pregnant with my first, I thought I had lost her, but it was intense constipation, really horrible, never felt anything like it in my life, was ready for phoning an ambulance. Had something similar with this pregnancy a few nights ago, i had to curl into a ball, luckily it was away by morning.

Hope your feeling better soon

I was hospitalized a few years back from constipation and it really is that bad, the pain I was in at times was like labour and made me very sick, I wasn't pregnant at the time but I can imagine how it would make you worried about baby. Fingers crossed it won't come back x

I'd never had constipation until Tri 1 and omg! What a shock! I half believe giving birth won't be all that bad compared to some of the 'moments' during that time! For me at least, it was just a Tri 1 thing and I'm ok now in that department :lol:

I was rolling about in pain the other night, but i needed the toilet and had alot of trapped wind. Mention it to your midwife but i am sure it is nothing to worry about. xxx

I haven't been constipated yet but I had trapped wind at my birthday meal a few weeks ago! It was that bad I was gripping the loo seat! Then it went and OMG the relief! lol Hope you're ok now hun! x

Thanks ladies, didn't have any more pain, just feel a bit out of sorts, wondering now if it's also something I ate as my DH is not feeling great. Thankfully my DDs haven't suffered. Going to try and drink loads today as I don't think I am drinking enough as I seem to have a permanent dull headache, guess that doesn't help either!!! xx

That sounds like Norovirus that I had in February Yorksmummy- I was agony all night with my stomach too then the vomiting started in the morning!! Not pleasant - poor you!
