advice please im really scared something is going wrong

Im 9 and a half weeks pregnant and Ive just went to the toilet and there was loads of brown discharge like before you come on. Does this mean Im about to bleed or can it be something else? im really scared now. Haven't had any form of discharge since I found out I was pregnant and missed two periods. Ive had really bad morning sickness and still being sick this morning and my boobs are killing so still got all the signs. Thanks for your help. xxxx

Iwouldnt say that this is anything to worry about if it was red and lots then i would worry many pregnant women get brown discharge xx

I'm afraid I have never been through this but didnt want to read and not reply. From what I have read from other posts spotting early on in pregnancy is very common and you shouldnt worry too much. There is greater concern if you have very bad cramps and red blood. Keep an eye on yourself and if you at any point start to feel cramps or there is red blood contact your midwife to get an emergancy scan.

I am sure though it is nothing to worry about, so please just take it easy.

Do not fear! I got this at 4 weeks, some people get it around 8 weeks, some later some sooner. It is very normal, it's just leftover blood I believe. Unless you get piercing pains or the blood turns a bright red, you have nothing to be worried about. Sometimes it is accompanied by cramping, too.

Light pink blood is also normal.

Thanks for all your replies I really appreciate them. I proper panicked and my heart stopped. Just didn't know if it was normal or a symptom of what was to come. Got no cramping at all, was just shocked to see it. Its so wierd when you look in all the books at each progressing week you wonder how it all works its mad eh. Im just so protective over my little bean cos it means so much to us. Can't wait til I'm out the first trimester and can relax a bit more xxx

I understand, I felt exactly the same when I got the spotting. Mine lasted for a few days, too. It's scary, but really, it's nothing to worry about.

Hi, I had this at 6 weeks and again at 9 and it was very scary, I was told that it was just old blood clearing out but I would go and see your doc, mine were very nice and I had early scans on both occasions to set my mind at rest, and an internal exam at 9 weeks to check my cervix was still closed too.
I was told its not uncommon but any bleeding should be checked out.

PM me if you want to ask anything else but try not to panic, and if you can get a scan it will really rest your mind seeing babes little heart pumping away.

Hi,

Although it's common as others say, you should always let your doctor/midwife know if you have spotting/bleeding in pregnancy.

I had spotting all the way the first trimester, it was a really worrying time.

As Clary said, you will more than likely be offered an early scan. I had 3 in my first trimester including the 12 week one.

At least if you are offered a scan it will put your mind at ease.

My midwife said no bleeding is "normal" in pregnancy.
