Hey girls, I was wondering if this is normal or not...

I feel like I have to pee all the time. When I do go there isn't any pain or stinging so I don't think its a UTI but I as soon as I go I feel like I need
to go again 2 minutes later.

Is anyone else suffering the same? Thanks in advance x

I've had this at times. I've put it down to the way baby is lying because the next day or so I'm back pretty much to normal.

How long have u been like it?

yer i would say its how n where the baby is lying squashing ur bladder been here many times its a right mare xxx

Thanks Violet, I suppose it's got worse over the last couple of weeks although it was pretty bad early on in Tri 1, I think there was one night where the record was 13 wees in one night!

One cup ot tea will seem to require about 8 trips to the loo in quick succession! :/

Wow 13 in one night is a lot

In tri 1 I went a lot more than I do now, in fact now some nights I can even go a whole 7 hours without a wee!

I'm not entirely sure, but I believe tea is a mild diuretic so it will cause u to go more often. Do u drink much tea in the evening? Could u swap it for something else like milk maybe?

Unfortunately it doesn't seem to matter what I drink, the wee just keeps comin'!

Do you have to be in pain to have a UTI? Might go to the docs if not.

I had 2 water infections prior to getting pregnant. I had no pain or discomfort. My only symptom was the urge to go very frequently (5 times in 1 hour) but only weeing less than would fill an eggcup! That was it. Doc was astonished when she tested as she didn't think I had one lol.

If u do go to the docs u might just be able to take a sample with u or do one there. I found out after u don't necessarily need to see the doc or nurse for a water infection, however, might be different at your surgery or even just because u r pregnant.

A uti wont always cause pain, but usually your urine will be darker in colour or appear cloudy. Drink plenty fluids, cranberry juice is ideal but otherwise stick to water. Personally I would avoid tea or coffee as caffeine irritates the bladder.

Thanks girls. There is hardly anything there when I do go but it feels like I'm desparate :(
Will give the docs a bell and send hubby out for cranberry juice I think! x

After each of my pregnancies (5 in all) my bladder has become weaker and weaker this pregnancy I'm in the loo every 15 minutes on average even during the night it's aleast 4 visits, hay fever is not my friend at moment either (sneezing ) hopfully it will settle for while during tri 2 before it gets worst again in tri 3. If it's not painful I wouldn't worry about it and of course the doctors and mw are checking your pee regularly anyway so should be fine . xx

That's true Katey, I only had my wee tested on Monday. Ah, the joys! I'll put it down to bubs using my bladder as a trampoline... if I'm like this now what teh heck's Tri 3 gonna be like?

I've had this on and off too. I'll be bursting and then 1 ml of pee comes out and I'm like 'really?!!' xx

I cant drink tea anymore, makes me need the toilet all day :(

i pee loads n have stress incontinence.....this is my 3rd child so who knows how my bladder will be after birth.sanitary towels are my friend lol.

omg i get this and its so annoying expecially at work as i have to pee allll the time! x

Sorry if it was already suggested ( I did read through but I suffer random blindness lately lol) but I read in a book that if you find you're nipping to the loo really often then kind of lean forward and/or rock side to side... Apparently it helps empty the bladder more efficiently so you don't still need to go right away.
I do it in the night and it does seem to get more out lol.

Thanks Sarah, I haven't heard of that one so I'll give it a try! x :)
