Hi ladies,

so i have congenital hypothyroidism, so I was basically born without the thyroid gland or hormone so I have been taking thyroxine my whole life which is a synthetic hormone to basically replace whats missing.

i am trying to conceive, I believe i Ov'd on monday and according to the app I have on my phone, my fertility week was last week, I've been dtd pretty much every day or every other day with my OH, however Im just wondering if anyone else has experienced trying to have a baby with an under active thyroid???? does it make anything harder or delay anything?

any advice would be much appreciated.

Hi, sorry I have no experience of this but hopefully someone may have some advice. Hope it doesn't have an impact and you get your BFP soon x

Hiya

thanks for commenting!

I dont know whether it would effect it, but thought it was worth a mention anyway to see if anyone else has had the same! its still such early days to get BFP but symptom spotting is driving me mad haha x

Hi, I have an underactive thyroid and I'm on thyroxine. Not sure I'll be that helpful as I've never had children, trying at the moment but I'm in my 40s so I have other issues! What I understand is that, providing you have it under control, it shouldn't be a problem. You do have to have it at a certain level though. My reflexologist told me that doctors consider a certain range to be healthy but as reflexologist specialising in fertility she likes to see a slightly lower number. To be honest, I don't understand all the numbers but when mine was tested recently I had a level of 0.7 which my reflexologist said was great.

So, without all the rambling (sorry) it shouldn't be a problem providing all under control. Good luck!
