Hi, I've briefly looked into acupuncture and have booked in for a first appointment in a couple of weeks - it costs £55 but it is 1.5 hours for the first appointment. Then £40 per 45 min session. I have chronic health complaints as well and I was wondering if it could work for fertility and my health problems? Has anyone any experience and does the cost sound about right? They are registered with the British association of acupuncturists so I know they are qualified.

Hi I have no experience of acupuncture I did think about it but couldn't justify the price however i had reflexology which is £25 for a hour and that is to help fertility increase blood flow balance hormones and relax you I love it, I had it done once with my first after ttc for 4 months and conceived straight after it. This time in had it done and conceived 3 times but unfortunately lost them I had it done again today just to relax me and hopefully rebalance my hormones xx

Hi honey

I am currently having acupuncture with my IVF cycle. It is soooo relaxing and I would recommend it to anyone (I was looking into either acupuncture or reflexology but two doctors at my clinic suggested I do acupuncture to boost my chances without me even mentioning I was looking into it!).

My acupuncturist is great and also gives me dietary advice, looks for any vitamin deficiencies and recommends any supplements to help.

The cost does sound about right. I wanted a Zita West affiliated one so mine is slightly more expensive than others I have seen (might be worth checking to see if yours is) and was also recommended specifically by my clinic. Mine cost £65 for the first session of 90 mins and £45 for the others (which are an hour). Xxx

I've heard good things but have no experience myself. Good luck with it and keep us updated x

Thanks so much for your replies.

Phoenix I've heard of her she's meant to be brilliant, I am so glad you are finding it is helping :) how are you doing?

I am good thanks chick, got a scan today to see if we can book egg collection for IVF xx

Egg collection is tomorrow now, eek xx fingers crossed it all goes ahead as it still may not xx

I had acupuncture and really rate it when I was trying for my first it's very calming and really helped me relax and taught me a lot about my cycles. Only thing. Id say is see someone that specialises in fertility acupuncture x

I did it for two months. About twice a week I went for 30 to 45 min session. I did enjoy it and found it relaxing but I did not get pregnant. I stopped going because I couldn't afford if after my medical coverage ran out. Studies have proven it helpful for IVF people I hear.

I found accupuncture completely messed with my cycle. I had reflexology before getting my bfp, which I much preferred xx
