Hi here I'm looking for a good room thermometer but not sure which one to go for? My brother and sister both had the gro egg but when they but both in the same room the readings were different so I don't know how reliable they are? I saw a philips avent one that can also be used in the bath but don't know if it's any good. What have you all gone for? If your bothering at all? I'm just worried as it winter don't want bubs to be cold :( x

I have a gro egg at the moment. The ideal range is between 16-20 degrees. The room doesn't have to be an exact temperature just in that range.. I would be more comfortable around the 20 degree mark mind! I've got my heating thermostat on 20 too so that should help maintain temps

I have the gro egg... I like it. I also have the wee blue flower shaped Avnet one you are talking about, but I just use that for the bath. It's the same temp as my gro egg in the room xxx

I have a gro egg too, love it as I can't see without my glasses on so the fact its a coloured light helps me check the temp in the middle of the night xx

I don't use my gro egg anymore I don't like it. It was always different to 2 other thermometers. Xx

My ANgelcare monitor & movement sensor has a thermometer on it. :)

My baby monitor has one built in but would of brought a grow egg if not. Xxx

Gro egg and just bought the little owl to go over the top of it...so cute :) x

I definitely didn't just buy the gro egg just so I can have the cute owl top bit

Ok considering we have the babies r us olive and Henri bedding set and accessories I feel I NEED the gro egg in my life just so I can have the owl too!!!
Thanks for all your replies ladies xx

Our monitor has a thermometer on it, but I found quite quickly that my daughters room temperature was impossible to control and that apart from adding or removing blankets you just have to live with it and try not to worry too much. So I'd have thought anything which is going to be accurate within a degree or two would be fine. Before we used the monitor, we just had a free thermometer card thing and that did the job too.

We have the gro egg and I've only just realised today that the ideal temp should be yellow   We've had it at orange!!!!!!

It's so bloody cold though?? I am in leggings, a top and a cotton cardi and feel cold with the gro-egg @ 22c

Bub seems fine, MW's have seen him 3 times and never commented on his temp. He is quite a cold baby (hands and feet wise) and screams the house down when you change him so he needs it a bit warmer than 20c surely?

xxxxxxx

Awwwww just checked the gro egg site, I'm getting Mikey the Monkey for my wee Mikey! Love it!

Yeah I find that 20 degrees is a bit chilly for me but last night the temp crept up to 22 and MJ was sweating, poor scone. I need to invest in a onesie I think. If your wee one is fine at 22 Nat then enjoy the cosy! Xx

I know it's strange that the recommended range is 16-20!! I've put the gro egg in our room now to start monitoring temps before bubs gets here and it's currently 21.6. But in quite warm actually... Not sure if that's pregnancy related cos in always hot at the mo!! Input the air con in in work, and have to sleep naked cos I'm so warm!!
