Just got home from triage after a night of clawing at my palms and soles of my feet. I can't remember the name of the condition he was explaining but it says 'OC' in my notes, he said its highly unlikely I have it as women don't get it until they're 35 weeks and I'm only 28+4. He had no problem telling me there was a higher risk of still born births though, because I'm clearly not going to worry about that. Blood has been sent off but he failed to mention at the beginning that if my symptoms only started last night, nothing will show for a week. So got to go back next week for repeat bloods. I'm just fuming really.

Sorry ladies I just needed to rant xx

Theres a thread at the top of this board about it, its to do with your liver and can be treated if picked up.
Hope all goes well x

They will be testing you for obstetric cholesistasis not sure on the spelling for the second word but there is a thread about it right at the top. Basically it's something to do with your liver and bile salts. My sister had it with her first baby, they just closely monitored her bloods and she had to go regularly to be put on the toco monitor to make sure baby was ok then she was induced at 38 weeks because it can affect your placenta if you go to full term.

Hope its just itching from stretching and nothing to worry about Xx

I hope so! Clawing at my hands, they're very sore now. Suppose I just have to wait and see xx

Good they are testing bloods twice Lulu , lots of cream to sooth x

I had this from 30 weeks til I gave birth. Wet your socks and put them in the fridge and put them on it relieves the itchiness also can work with gloves for hands. It's awful to have but if they've picked it up now they will treat it and monitor you closely hun . My midwife said it was my skin stretching it wasnt oc and it was only when they tested my blood after I had them they said my bile salts were still high that I'd had it.
Also running the shower ice cold on your feet really helps relieve the itching too xxx

Thank you hun. Been confirmed today that I have it. Off to the hospital tomorrow morning but unsure what they'll do while I'm there. Thank you for the tips xx
