I have went through 3 abortions before in my past years and now I am pregnant which I am ready to be a mom. Of course I watched some videos of natural birth and c-section which I am really afraid and still freaking out because I am really scared of it. I am not sure which option I should choose and I heard that I can't do natural birth if I have several abortions before. Anyone have any idea?

I've never heard that you can't have a natural birth if you've had abortions, but then i've never had one and its not something that i would have looked up... Personally, i'd say go for natural if you can! My sister just had a c-section, and aside from the big scar (she says it looks like a big smile), its quite painful and she isn't allowed to drive for 6 weeks!

I agree with nik. I dunno much about pregnancy after abortion never having had one, but i'd say aim for a natural one if you can. A c-section is a big operation, and recovery can be hard. You want to be able to enjoy your LO when they arrive.

Try not to worry about it too much. If the natural birth's not an option cos of your history then im sure you're MW will tell you. How far on are you? have you had ur booking appointment yet? you could ask the midwife at that to put your mid at rest!

I did my first scan today, 8w4d. It melts me when I heard my child's heartbeat. My gynae has not advise me of anything and said natural birth is fine.

I have a friend who did abortions before and when she was pregnant, she have low-lying placenta and need to be on bed for 3 mths before delivery. My sister told me that it happens with people who have abortions before.

Now I am really freaking out :|

If your gynae hasnt said anything about natural being difficult, i wouldnt worry about it.
As for the low lying placenta - def not worth worrying about just now, every pregnancy is diff, so just enjoy yours.

Glad natural is still and option, I would have thought that it shouldn't have changed anything for your birth.

Natural is pain now
C-Section is pain later - just different that's all

Ive had 4 sections, and don't know what natural is like, So If I could Id opt for natural, but the natural ladies would tell me how awful it was, the birth stories sound really ouch to me! , and so think there both as bad as each other, but all being well you get a bundle of fun at the end of either so worth it - try not to worry, at the time you will just do it.

ive had an abortion in the past and my midwife and gynae havent said anything. my midwife even went through all the options with me. my gynae did say though that i might not be able to have a natural birth but its nothing to do with my abortion. its more because i had heart problems as a child and they need to check if my heart is strong enough to go through natural labour. he has to have a meeting with the cardiologist and anaesthetist and they'll let me know. but if they havent mentioned im sure youll be fine x

I think it is probably a myth, i can't see any reason why an abortion would affect natural child birth. Also, i didn't think one had the choice of a C section - they don't tend to encourage elective C sections in this country. Unless of course you go private.

I'm going for as natural as possible, no pain releif. I have my reasons but everyone has their own opinion. Our bodies are designed for it, so try not to worry.

Good luck!
