OK, so for maybe 3 months, every time I go to the toilet (no. 2) quite a lot of bright red blood comes from my bum, usually in one big, painless, gush... I was putting it down to piles but I'm not so sure anymore...

For the last couple of weeks it hasn't just been a "gush" as it were it's been a case of my sitting on the toilet holding paper to my bottom for 15-20 minutes until the bleeding stops and I'm losing more and more each time I go .

I've never had anything like this happen to me before and I'm not sure whether it's pregnancy related, piles related or something else?

I'm not sure about going to doctors about it though cause he'll want to look at my bum and I don't particularly like the thought of that :shakehead: especially if it ends up being nothing...

Any advice girls?

From a rather embarrassed HeppiBean  xx

Get urself to the doctor hun! I know its embarassing but they have seen it all before ;-)
You could have a tear inside that keeps opening everytime you pass a stool so they may give you somethig to make things softer so it can heal.
Im sure its easily fixed but ur best to see ur gp to put ur mind at rest :)

I'm afraid you need the doctor luvie :hugs: sounds very uncomfortable . Dont be embarassed they have seen it all xxx

I agree with the girls - better see a doctor! Just for a pease of mind. xx

Hello, it sounds like it will be piles or an anal fissure. I know it's embarassing and it's easy for me to say because it's not me but I think you should really see your doc or mid wife.
They will be really used to seeing and dealing with it as it's a common pregnancy complaint. I bet once you've been and they reassure you you'll feel so much better about it and wonder why you put it off so long.
Good luck :hugs:

Thanks girls... I had a feeling you'd say to see a doctor I just don't like the thought of some bloke prodding at my bum :wall: Ahh well... Maybe one of the female temps will be in and I'll be lucky! Ha ha xx

Could you maybe ask for a woman doc?

See once you have had the baby you won't care about stuff like that anyway, once you've been in labour your dignity goes out the window lol. I always hated going to docs for stuff like that but when I was in labour I had 3 male doctors and a few different midwives all had a rummage cos the baby was wrong way round and after that you just don't care. They deal with it all the time.

Hope you get it sorted. I passed out on the loo last week cos it was so sore cos I think I had a cut up there, ouch!

Trust me you wont care after you have your baby , I had an internal by a male midwife last night didnt even think about it until my oh asked was I not embarassed ?

I've had an internal by a bloke, it's just different some how being my bum :eh: ahh well, I guess once I've had it done once I won't mind so much in future xx

Hey hun, I agree with what the ladies have said...docs or MW.

I know its embarrassing, but it'll put your mind at rest of it being possibly to do with piles or an anal fissure, cos you'll worry yourself sick and that's the last thing you need at the moment. x

I think you should go too hun, I would be embarrased too but your health is more important  xx

I sympathise, I had managed to "cut" my bum somehow and had to face facts and go to the docs. It was embarrassing but worth it because it got it sorted.
I'm glad I did now, as having that done plus having an operation in December has hopefully taken away my shyness a bit so I won't be as mortified when people are elbow deep up my foo during labour

:hugs:

That sounds scary.

Could you not go to the doctors/mw initially and explain whats going on but say your not ready for an "examination" yet. Maybe they could give you some advice?

I agree with the girls, after labour you really wont care less, honestly, its a shame it happened beforehand for you.

:)
