Hi everyone I’m a first time mum and 8 weeks pregnant I’m really struggling at work and although they have lightened my duty’s as a support worker I am exhausted by the end of a shif so much so I’m struggling to walk the five minute walk home I don’t know how much longer I can carry on working for the next 7 months anyone feeling the same

The first trimester is a nightmare for feeling exhausted, and sick, and fatigue... It's just generally not a nice trimester! It'll lighten up by trimester 2. Not long to go, hang in there xx

I was the same. Ten weeks now and feeling much better!

I’ve found my fatigue got a lot better after I stopped working night shifts? Don’t know if that would help you?

Thankyou guys I hope it get better I’ve stopped nights but some days I will finish work at ten at night and be back for seven in the morning got three days off so am going to try to relax x

I’m almost 12 weeks, tiredness had eased (I’m a bugger for being tired anyway!) I’ve also struggled working & dr gave me time off.. if it’s pregnsncy related time off ur okay as it doesn’t go against u.. just find out about contracted hours / pay etc .. but it honestly helped me having time off, although mine was mostly sickness.. x

It will probably get better around 11/12 weeks when your placenta is up and running. I've found tri 2 much worse for exhaustion than tri 1 though. I was tired in tri 1, but not so tired I couldn't go to work (though I missed loads of work due to sickness!).

Have you had blood tests yet? It can be normal but you may be low in iron if you're that exhausted.

Exhaustion was my only real problem in tri 1. Although it was better after 12 weeks, I don't think it truly lifted until about 16 weeks. I'm really glad I don't work shifts any more though as I don't know how I would have coped.
