8 week scan what to expect?

I've booked myself in for an early scan. I'll be 8+2.

What can I expect to see?
Will it be an internals or external scan?

Think they normally tell you to come with a full bladder as they try abdominally first. If they can’t see or get a clear enough image they’ll do it transvaginal instead

I had a scan at 7 weeks, which was done externally but I did have an extremely full bladder so it’s probably a good idea to drink as much as you can beforehand. I saw the sac and a teeny tiny kidney bean shaped baby. It’s not really a lot to make out to be honest but I did see a clear strong heartbeat, that looked like a flickering hair on the screen. Hope it goes well xx
