Hiyaaa

Im 8+6 today, I went to the loo about half an hour ago and noticed red blood upon wiping.

I rang my emergency midwife number, she said badically stay home and monitor it.

There was quite a lot of blood, but it has gradually got lighter and now nothing upon wiping...I have had no cramping

Naturally im worrying !!

Today is also the first day I have woken up and haven't been sick and do not feel pregnant at all, I was given amoxicillin last week for a 5 day course to treat a UTI and since starting taking them my symptoms have gradually decreased.

I don't feel happy with monitoring and sat about at home waiting for more blood to appear, but what else can I do? My local EPU is referral only, and I cannot get into the doctors.

Thanks in advance for any help

If you're worried I'd head to a&e hopefully everything will be fine xx

would you have been due a period about now if you hadn't been pregnant? sometimes you can get a breakthrough period when you would have usually. I know when I bled in pregnancy I couldn't bare to just sit an wait to see what happened. I would get to A&E or try to get referred to epu or pay for an early scan if you have that option?

no pain and bleeding stopping is positive, but still a worry. take things easy, keep hydrated in the meantime.

Ahhhh it's so frustrating when they say 'just monitor'. I bled on and off my pregnancy up until 20 weeks so I feel your pain. I went into a&e at about 5-6 weeks and they literally checked urine, told me I was bleeding but made it clear there was nothing they could do if I was miscarrying.

The common consensus is as long as you aren't in pain and it's not flowing fresh blood it's just 'one of those things'. There's so much going on in your body. It could be implantation, could be placenta forming, breaking through bleeding. They never got too the bottom of my bleeding but touch wood my baby is happy at 28 weeks.

Try and relax and trust your body.

I had lots of bleeding in my last pregnancy. I was found to have a pocket of blood inside my uterus but outside of the baby sac which 'leaked'. At 7 weeks and 12 weeks I had a heavy flow of bright red blood, no pain but I thought that was it. The bleeding (at 12 weeks) lasted until I was 16 weeks.
I then had another bleed at 19 weeks and and internal check found I had something called 'Cervical Ectropion'. Sex, lifting and moving, even walking could cause bleed! It was shit and I spent the whole pregnancy treading on eggshells.
Although bleeding in pregnancy isn't necessarily normal. It's extremely common and most go on to have a healthy full term baby. Mine is 9 months old :) xXx

Thankyou ladies ! Ive booked a private scan for tomorrow simply for peace of mind - my sickness came back today which made me feel so much better strangely enough haha and also I haven't bled since so im hoping it was all just nothing serious !

I had a heavy bleed at 8 weeks and had a private scan the same day and then at 10 weeks as still spotting and baby is fine my bleeding stopped the same day but went to spotting and I am still spotting now!! It's great you have a scan booked, peace of mind is everything! X

I hope scan goes well hun.

I had bleeding at 8+3 in my 1st pregnancy (hes now 2.5yrs old) aswell as bleeding at 8+4 in this pregnancy. Im not 14+6.

Stay positive xxx

Just to add to the other ladies' experiences here. I bled almost continually throughout the 1st trimester. And this was proper, what I would call period bleeding. Had many early scans and there was no explanation for it. The good news is that at around 14 weeks it all seemed to stop, I'm now 30 weeks and things are looking fine. Hopefully you'll get good news at your scan today.

I had a scan at six weeks they told me that there was a dark patch next to the babys amniotic sack which is a bleed it will continue to get bigger and gather more blood until it eventually comes out which won't effect the baby and is VERY common I'm 8+6 today and it's still not come out so there will be quite a bit of blood when it does perhaps you have the same thing? If you're worried go to a+e but it could be something normal like I have go with your instincts mummy knows best
