Hi guys, as the title says, Phoebe is now 6 months old and from about 3.5mths was sleeping through and napping well, she learned how to roll 3 weeks ago, has been teething for the past two months on and off badly but generally all the time, has just figured out how to roll over in her cot (but the width makes it hard for her so she either gets frustrated or stuck!), and is now fighting naps big time...She is still sleeping through 7pm to 6-7am but last night she was noisy three times trying to roll and had to rescue her once as she had rolled over on to her front and she was deeply asleep but clearly uncomfortable as she cant yet roll back...makes for interesting nighttimes lol...

She has always been a reasonable napper 45mins - 1hr 15mins x 3 per day but just recently she has extended her waketimes and can go 2-2.5hrs until she shows signs of being sleepy (and sometimes I take a call on it as she is fighting it and hides her yawns etc....) but then she only sleeps 25mins a piece and sometimes this is after much fussing prior primarily due to teething......this is fine if it is enough for her but by the 3rd or 4th nap (depending on morning wakeup) she is very sleepy but due to her teething she's not extending her naps very well, I always leave her 10mins after wakeup unless she's crying but she just chatters away showing no signs of wanting to sleep anymore...anyone else notice this? I realise the teething combined with development (rolling/sitting better etc) and a recent growth spurt will be affecting them but wondered if anyone has any suggestions/tips or similar stories?

on a similar note it is interesting that now she has mastered rolling out of her cot she is less interested in doing it but in her cot she does it all the time...have also noticed she is now showing a preference for side sleeping as opposed to back which is fine but this development could be reason for disturbances maybe?

I'd suggest trying longer awake times for her between naps if she's fighting them and then waking up after a short while.

My youngest is a few weeks younger than yours and can easily manage three hours between naps if he's had a long nap beforehand. If he's only had a short cat nap in the pram (will only do half an hour in the pram!) then he gets tired again by two or so hours.

As for night time sleeping, unless she's specifically waking up complaining. I would leave her to it when she rolls around.

Hi littlemonkey thanks for that, last night she was better, put her in the cot the opposite end of the cot as thats where she'd end up and she managed to get her head nicely in the corner next to two bumpers and stayed that way all night no attempted rollings whatsoever so could have been positioning or simply a one night discovery...im actually thinking she wore herself out the previous day and night and was soo tired last night as she slept sound from 7-7!

napswise she is used to feeding every 2.5-3hrs so if I leave her too long between naps she gets hungru and tired - not a good combo as she's fussy and too tired to feed, too hungry to sleep...so if she gets to 2.5hrs I put her down for nap anyway, ive also found her first nap needs to be 1.5hrs after wakeup as otherwise she gets the sleepiness build as the day progresses........

anyways her teething better today so thats good....

Ah I see. To be honest, my LO is pretty much on three meals a day now and three big bottles too so our routine is a bit easier for long awake times and long naps.

Phoebe is on 5 bottles and 2 meals per day atm, breakfast and lunch after bottle 1 & 3, she sleeps 7-7 so in 12hrs she does need to feed that frequently as she cant fit more than 8oz in at a time lol...once she took 12oz during a growth spurt but not since so think the will always be this regular until she starts dropping bottles when her solids increase...
