My builders duck when I go to the building site now. Even my horse seems to be giving me a look along the lines of 'haven't you had it yet?'

Midwife says baby is hugely contented inside even though my body seems to be trying it's best to get her out! No signs of baby stress at all, except when midwife tries to examine her when she thumps away at the midwife!

Got an induction booked for next weekend, although she is hopeful I won't need it - midwife had to beg for the appointment because apparently that weekend has been fully booked for ages - why? Who is booking inductions for a specific weekend that far in advance?

I hate maternity wards so i am not suprised they were trying to fob you off!!!

Good luck with this which will be your last week, hopefully you won't need to go the full stretch!!

Eat pineapple and rasberry leaf tea!

xxxx

Hope LO wants to make a appearence soon.

Have you not had stretch and sweep yet? they shoulkd be giving you at least teo a week of the baby is overdue though this does differ in some areas.

Really hope LO arrives before any intervention

Had a stretch and sweep - apparently I am 2-3cm dilated already, so SOMETHING should be happening!

Have you got a birthing ball? why not have a go on that and do something that makes you sweat! might ewncourage LO to come out.

Bounce down some steps

Aww hun I hope your lil' un hurries up.

I'm feeling your pain at the moment. My first baby was 18 days overdue, and here I am second time round already 4 days over!
It's bloody torture innit!!

Good luck I hope you pop soon xxx

Oh mayday - I really feel for you. I went into my 42nd week too and eventually my baby was born at 41+2, 9 days over and I was going stir crazy.

I had two stretch and sweeps - one last Tuesday when they told me I was 1-1.5cm dilated and one last Friday at 7 days over when I was 2cm dilated and my cervix was effacing nicely - I think the one on the Friday did the trick. I think I went into slow labour on the Friday night and all through the Saturday - I had the odd mild dull pain particularly when on long walks and bouncing on my ball and I had lots and lots of clear jelly show on the Saturday. My beautiful baby girl was born on Sunday morning.

My bet is you'll be holding your baby within 48 hours - fingers crossed!

How is the house coming along?

Valentine xxx

Valentine, I had my stretch and sweep yesterday and since then no change at all in symptoms - just moving has been a huge effort for the last 10 days or so and everything aches, but there doesn't seem to have been any increase in the general level of achiness, and nothing as promising as a show or anything. My midwife only works thurs - sat so no chance really of another one early next week if the first didn't work. I'm fed up of curry, sex, pineapple, raspberry leaf tea and long walks, and it looks like I'll have to have the gym ball surgically removed I have spent that much time on it. I have researched and tried acupressure points, and my nipples are ready to drop off I have been at them that much  .

The house had the scaffolding down yesterday which was a bit of a milestone, and the plumber started today. The plasterers finished upstairs so if I could only move I could limewash up here starting from tomorrow. OH will be getting familiar with a paintbrush instead  . I should have hot running water and a flushing toilet by the 15th :cheer: .

OH took me to see my horse today which was nice - I'm used to seeing him every day and in the last couple of weeks that has tailed off quite a bit as I find it uncomfortable to drive and am really tired. The horse went 'hey - where've you been? You scratch my back and I'll scratch yours!' and I scratched him for a bit and he tried to scratch me gently back. Couldn't quite have the hug I normally give him due to my tummy being in the way.

The only thing keeping me going is the thought that all three of us were 2-3 weeks late, then according to my mother 'just dropped out in a couple of hours!'

Well, it would seem a quick fume and rant has helped enormously! Been timing contractions now for 3 hours. When I rang the hospital about an hour ago they told me to stay at home a while longer (not a problem because I don't really like hospitals) but their reason for asking me to stay at home is that they are full  . All I can say is they had better find space for me or else!

Hope you're holding your baby right now mayday :)
Very best wishes

Pah! After getting extremely noticable twinges which made my eyes water and got down to 5-7 minutes apart they started getting stronger but less frequent. Then stopped altogether :x . Lost my plug in the process though - although the wisdom of the net seems to offer the opinion that this could be the start of labour, or nothing might happen for another couple of weeks!

OH has offered any assistance he can (he's been reading FAR too much about sex and starting things off - he's found an article which says, ahem, prostaglandins in semen is actually absorbed more effectively through the gut :puke: than through the vagina and has offered his services. Says 'Hun, I got this baby in you, let me try at getting it out!' He wishes!

omg you must be getting so stressed out, cos i knew i would be by noe,
hope your baby comes soon hunni

i read that too- i actually suggested it 2 my boyf, i really wanted the baby out the last week i was getting so hot & uncomfortable! but he DECLINED a bj lol, he thought it was too weird i was "using" him 2 get baby out lol

Big hugs Mayday. I hope the thought of the induction will spur your LO on to make an appearance voluntarily.

I went a week overdue but only got to 3 days over before I was asking for an induction or c-section. It really does seem unfair sometimes having to wait so long doesn't it?

I expect your LO is going to grace you with a quick and easy labour to make up for the wait now. Well, here's hoping that anyway.

Nope - she had to be surgically removed after 40 hours of labour, and even then she had to be prized out in a 4 hour operation which started off a normal emergency caesarian and progressed to a general anaesthetic with the consultant being called in from home to oversee the 'putting back together again!' As my midwife said - she was hanging onto a rib  . She really didn't want to come out. She spent 2 days in SCBU looking rather large among all the premature babies, but she's fine now.

Back home last night. Will post in Arrivals later.

COngratulations on new arrival..

Little Tinker really didn't want to come out did?!

I bet the long wait is worth it though.

Hope you are recovering ok though.

Congratulations on the arrival of your little girl Mayday. Sorry to hear it was a bit of an ordeal for you. :( My LO also had to be prized out with forceps during the C-Section. I guess they were both just a little too comfortable in there. :)

Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to reading your story in Arrivals when you get a moment to post. Big hugs
