3rd degree tear

Hi Ladies

Can anyone share their experience of labour after a 3rd degree tear?

i had one with my son back in July 2016 and now iv hit tri 3 the thought of giving birth again is scaring the hell out me.

i asked if i would be offered a c section as i heard they might but my midwife said no at my booking in appointment. im meant to have a appointment with a consultant to discuss how they will help me give birth but that isnt till around 34/36 weeks.

Any experiences or opinions would be greatly appreciated!

No experience with tears but my advice would be to have in your mind how you want to give birth. You will get a c section if you had a traumatic first birth. You just need to stay firm with what you want.

I think that normally there will be a discussion about a c section, in my experience anyway, with that degree of tear previously.
If it helps, I have seen women with previous severe trauma to the perineum deliver their next baby without so much as a graze x
