My 3 week old will not settle during the day at all so im finding it extremely difficult to get anything done in the house, i also have 2 other children.
He has had a few odd days where he has settled and fallen to sleep by hiself for around 3 hrs. But thats rare.
Everyday from 7-8am upto 10pm he has the odd light nap which last around 15-20 mins and then hes back awake again. Its so hard to get him to have these short naps, its usually feeding him thats causing him to drift off. But as soon as i put him down or theres any type of noise hes awake again. Nobody can seem to settle him not my husband not my parents either. Hes just too busy stretching his neck out pushing back and having a good nosey around the room. Althought hes constantly yawning and you can see hes really tired, nothing seems to work. Tried swaddling, rocking him, walking back and forth around the room a million times, white noise, his vibrating rocker swing, going for a walk he cries in the pushchair also, even tried a dummy which makes him gag so no good. I just dont know what else i can do. He becomes extremely overtired and nothing seems to work. All day long all im doing is trying to get him to sleep but hes just fighting it constantly.

Have you tried babywearing? A soft stretchy sling would be ideal and would let you get on! Bet he would fall asleep too.

Ive got a connecta carrier but he cries in that too. I think the problem is his tummy thats bubbling all day thats keeping him awake.

Might be worth trying a stretchy sling if you can borrow one from a sling library?

Probiotics helped my little one's tum, might be worth looking into. Also second baby massage. x

Yes been doing the baby massage. He seems to also be very fussy at bedtimes. Takes me 4hrs to get him to sleep. Otherwise hes waking every 10 minutes as soon as he drops off hes awake again.

Gosh, that sounds so hard for him and you. Sorry, no more advice - have you spoken to your HV?

Im still having problems. Hes now 5 weeks old. He hardly sleeps during the day. Yesterday he was awake from 4pm til 1am. I couldn't get him to sleep. Its like hes in pain at night, i think maybe colic. I need to speak to my HV. I will phone her tomorrow

Could maybe be silent reflux? My daughter had that and was similar xxx

Im still awake with him trying to settle him, its now 2:20am He keeps crying, falling asleep for 5-10mins. Waking up again and crying.

Have you tried all the usual stuff for colic like infacol or gripe water? x

Ive just started on infacol. And we had a good night. Hope it stays this way lol x

I love baby wearing in the beginning. Also, it is ok if the baby is in the crib for a few minutes to get stuff done. :)

I spoke too soon, he was really unsettled last 2 nights and today. Its now 6pm hes been awake since 12 noon. An hour ago he had a cluster of crying fits and seemed like he was in some bad pain. Im currently giving him infacol & gripe water. But he still wont settle. Ive tried everything. I think im going to have to take a visit to the doctors.
