20 Week Scan - Rescan Needed - worried!

I’ve had my 20 week scan today and they weren’t able to see some upper limbs, all of the heart in detail and the Abdominal circumference.

I’m actually not to worried about those things as she said baby was lying awkwardly. On my notes for the scan it also mentions that I need to be rescanned for the Cavum Septum Pellucidum (part of the brain) What worries me was that this wasn’t mentioned to me? Also the brain was observed? It said this is down to ‘suboptimal views’ today. Have stupidly googled this and an absence of this is bad. Trying to decide if she saw it but couldn’t get a clear image of it. Going to be in a right state now for the next 10 days ‍

Is it suboptimal views that you googled as to me that sounds like she couldn't get a clear view.

I'd try not to worry as if she couldn't get a clear view of the other things because of how baby was laid it's probably a similar situation. How long do you have to wait for your next scan?

I'm sure if they were concerned about something they would have had a midwife speak to you straight after. Whenever I've had any concerns (placenta looked too low on my 20 week scan) they had a midwife speak to me straight after the scan to explain what that meant and what that would mean if it didn't move.

That’s what I’m hoping is that she couldn’t get a clear view but saw it. She didn’t examine the other things she couldn’t see because of babies position. She did look at the brain though

Maybe she just didn't get a clear view even though she did examine it. She probably didn't mention it because she'd mentioned the other things and didn't want to worry you (although obviously we read our notes and then worry even more)

Relax; until you're told there might be a problem there is no point worrying. I am sure everything will be fine. I hope you don't have long to wait for your next scan

I think at this point I wouldn’t worry. If she couldn’t see all of baby it’s likely she couldn’t get a clear brain shot either. If it was an issue she’d have mentioned it I’d have thought.

I know it’s easier said than done but try not to worry. When is your next scan?

Next Friday! It feels like forever - I’ve just got myself in a bit of a state. She spent ages on the brain and never mentioned an issue so I don’t know why this needs rescanning! Really hope - it’s that when she reviewed images she hadn’t captured a clear one of this area. Surely she would have said if she just hadn’t seen it.
