'20 week scan at 18 weeks/

So i am 16 weeks on Thursday, i have just worked out that my 20 week scan is on the 18th August!! I will be JUST 18 weeks.

Do you think they will still be able to see the sex of the baby? I am not sure my dates are right anyway because i was only just 9 weeks when i had my 12 week scan, has anyone else had their dates changed at the 20 week?

Oh i hope they can see the sex of the bean! I am excited to have it early though

A baby's genitals are distinguishable pretty early!
Most women have their 20 week scan between 18-20 weeks, the sex can be detected very well at this time
I had my first scan at 10 weeks 6 days, It was meant to be my 12 week scan but they put me back a week! xxx

I had an 18 week scan and they confirmed that he's a boy. I think they can tell from 16 weeks

cool! Cheers guys I am surprised its so early, was bang on 20 weeks last time!

They said in my dating scan that they might move my dates forwards... We will see, i was only 9 weeks when they did the dating scan, I hope it stays the same because i have sort of familiarised myself with the 19th Jan!

Glad others found out the sex early, i was a bit worried about that, specially as i 'think' this one is a girl and i have heard its more difficult for them to tell or something!

Yeah the sex can be determine by ultrasound from 16 weeks

I had a baby on the 19th Jan (my second boy) in 2001 and it snowed when we were in hosp waiting to go to theatre and it was lovely - hope you get snow on your D-Date too, lovely to remember

I went today and she thinks thy are boys at 16 weeks but wants to confirm at 18 weeks just to make sure xx

aww baby in the snow ;D that sounds exciting!!

Had my midwife appointment today and got a lovely heartbeat (though she did move around a lot )

very excited for the scan in two weeks

I have my scan on the 15th August, so I'll be only 18+3 (although Ive had too scans and that one dated me 17+4 now, so I might be put forward a week hopefully haha) I really wanna find out the sex of the baby. My mum is going with me as my OH has just started a new job She doesnt want me to find out, but I really cant wait haha. Then I get scanned every two weeks till 28 weeks just to make sure my cervix is holding up ok xxx

Wow loads of scans for you! Your OH will come round, you can just tell her that you know but doesnt mean she has to know lol

Me and Liam both want to find out, which is easier i think

My OH wants to know too, its my mum that doesnt wanna know and shes going to the scan with me, although shes that nosy she'll be dying to know. And OH has said he'll be phoning like mad to see what it is (we both really want a boy, but as long as its healthy thats whats important ) xxx
