My Lo will be 2 in October. I think he is quite small for his age, he also suffers from a bit of constipation. I think the fact he goes to nursery 3 days a week, his gran has him 1.5 days a week as I work full time. He then spends 2 nights a week with his Dad I don't kno what he is eating exactly.

I have asked his gran / dad to ensure he gets the goodness he needs rather than the bad stuff he will always pick. Nursery encourage a healthy diet but he's always hungry when I get him so give him more food.

Just wondered if anyone has got any ideas how to get fruit / veg into him. He will eat oranges / strawberries / corn on the cob / mash etc. I bought some of the fruit pots as he loves yogurts so hoping these will go down well. Even if he has just one a day to encourage his bowels. I think if I can get him to regularly open his bowels he may eat more and put a bit of weight on ??

He drinks like a fish so know it's not that - however may fill up on fluid sometimes rather than food too.

Thanks

I read a great tip recently to get more goodness in to kids. If you've got a blender, cook up some veg, blend it up and spread it on his toast. Or do it with fruit.
If he likes to drink would he have a fruit smoothie? Throw any veg in that you've got with a Handful of spinach (you won't taste it) and tell him it's apple juice. Works a treat with my 6 year old who loves apple juice but apparently nothing else haha.
I find pastas especially spaghetti bolognaisse a great way to his veg, great a carrot in, a handful of sweet corn, it all helps.

Thanks Jessiecat. I have a super fussy 2.8y old and they are two things I am going to try.

X

I make homemade pasta sauce. A tin of chopped toms, carrots, onion, butternut squash, mushrooms, courgettes, a veg stock and some water. Boil it all until soft the blend and add to pasta.

My two also have a children's innocent smoothie every morning after breakfast no have multi vitamins every morning too x
