I started taking folic acid when i found out i was pregnant, at around week 4, i am at 12 weeks now, and the bottle says take for 12 weeks, but i was wondering is it ok to still take it, i am anemic so this should help if i keep taking it, am i right?

Also i don't drink much, before i got pregnant i mean, but we have 3 bottles of wine and i fancy a small glass with my tea, would this be ok do you think, or should i not bother.

Hiya

I take sanatogen pro natal as my folic acid source and you can take it whilst TTC, during pregnancy and after birth, I get a 90 day supply at a time. I'm not sure about regular folic acid though.

I'll do some reading on that in a second, it's not like I have anything better to do...(I'm stuck on the sofa feeling sorry for myself...stupid wee infection) :wall: :wall:

IMO - I don't think one glass of wine will hurt with your tea. Enjoy :)

BRB - with folic acid info hehe

Taking folic acid after the first 12 weeks will have no impact on NTD risk, but will help prevent low folate status and associated anaemia.

aww thank you so much for doing that for me, you are the best, sometimes i forget to google things :wall: silly pregnancy brain :rotfl:

sorry you aren't feeling very good, hope it passes soon

No probs, I always forget to google things for myself too, I only do it for other people haha!

I should be better within the next few days  Thank you xx

Drinking alcohol in pregnancy is a very personal thing. My friend (who is a responsible person) continued to drink in moderation but I refused to drink at all. I would smell other people's wine though as I really missed it

However, red wine, like caffeine, interferes with the absorbtion of iron so if you should avoid it while you are aneamic.

well i made a chilli meal for tea but couldn't eat it, it tasted awful, OH loved it though, he ate mine too :rotfl: i had a little bit of wine, only a few mouthfuls, it was lovely, and OH's mum just brought us 2 bottles of mulled wine, thats four and a half bottles now, lucky OH. :rotfl:
