Folic Acid??

Hi girls

Now I'm 12 weeks plus 2 days do I stop taking my folic acid? Or am I better phoning mw??

I read that you take it to your 12th week of pregnancy but could always ring MW & double check

I heard it was up until 12th week of pregnancy too, but I think I'm just going to carry on with my pregnacare tablets throughout pregnancy anyway (mainly because I don't like vegetables much and need the extra vitamins!)

Hi!

I spoke to the doctor about vitamins and I am taking Pregnacare ones which have the correct amount of folic acid in and you can take these through the whole pregnancy, I asked if I would be OD'ing on Folic acid and she said no!!!

I am on high dosage folic acid 5mg due to my age. I called mw and she said I stop taking them now but I have to go to chemist and get my "Healthy Start Vitamins" and take throughout pregnancy and for a year after..... I'll go this afternoon and see what they say!

I got the vitamins. 2 months supply for £1.21 - much cheaper than pregnacare. I'll post this as seperate thread in case helpful to some!

pregnacare is on special offer at sainsburys atm - 3 for the price of 2 so manages to get 225 days worth for £20. hoping i'm not jinxing anything by stocking up tho
