Had my 1st scan today which I'm not sure how I feel at the moment. The sonographer couldn't really tell me much but was concerned, she told me that the baby seems to have a "bumpy" head.

On my notes it says:

Fetal head - anteriorly prominent, fluid filled. For fetal centre review.

Fetal spine not seen entirely due to fetal lie.

I've had a phone call from the fetal centre for a booking, but it's not until Monday 22nd December.

Has anyone else had this problem? Please tell me I'm not worrying for nothing.

Im sorry i cant help but wanted to give you some hugs   and say that a couple of the girls on here maybe able to help as i know some have had fluid on baby's head. xx

Im so sorry like Sara I personally cant offer any advice, but wish you the best of luck do keep us informed!

Cant offer any advice but didnt want to read and run. Try to remember first scans are actually really early and baby is very small, lets hope that maybe you didnt drink enough water/baby in funny position. It all feels so clinical doesnt it. I find the scans quite scary actually.

Big hugs hun, take care and let us know what happens xxxx

No advice honey sorry.
Have you thought of posting this in the Ask a mum section?

First scans can be inaccurate for fetal development - so try not to worry, also my SIL was told her son had a cyst on his brain on her 18 wk scan - this turned out to be nonsense and he was fine. Hopefully everything will be perfect

My baby had cysts on her head. We went through the amnio and everything. We had loads of scans to moniter them, we were told they were larger than usual. What my baby had was cyroid plexus cysts.

Went to be scanned again at 24 weeks and they had completely gone, aparently can just be a normal part of babies growth!!

Dont worry until you've seen someone huni, it may be nothing xxx

I had a very similar thing detected at 10 weeks. The ultrasound was picking up two small white dots on top of the baby's head. Had to see a specialist a week later and am still gonig through all the tests. My little one is doing ok at the moment and growing as she should be. Only thing I can say is that in the 10-12 week stage the baby is very small and ultrasounds can't always give you a good picture of the baby so maybe it's a case that they can't see things properly so they're being cautious? The head won't be fully rounded and look like a baby's head until about 12-13 weeks anyway.

I know it's hard but please try not to worry until you have your next scan which will tell them a lot more about the baby as you'll be further gone by then and they can see more as little one will be bigger. I've had a lot of worry over my little one due to early scans and she's doing alright in there! xxx
