So we had our 1st consultation today. It wasn't what I expected and seemed very quick. Anyway it was all basically concentrated on me as OH is fine. They took my weight and height then I got asked about my cycles - length, how regular, how long my period is within the cycle. Asked us both medical history and health.

I had to have a blood test last week to check immunity to rubella which she said was fine. She complained that I've not had a chlamydia check but I said I hadn't done it as me and OH have been together for 12 years, I've only ever been with him and he has been tested recently when he had other health issues and was clear. Apparently I still have to do it.

Anyway my next stage is an HSG to check that my tubes are open. So have to get that booked when af arrives. Feel like crap plus I started spotting today so thinking I'm going to be out this month :(

Hood luck nik. I hope its quick and painless. I'll certainly be keen to hear how it goes as I have to book mine the first day of my next period xx

Well apart from not having time to take painkillers before going for my appointment it went ok. It was quite painful to have done but once it was over the pains subsided and I have only had mild cramps since on and off.

The nurses were lovely, one held my hand while it was done and told me to squeeze her hand if I had to. The doctor was lovely too.

She said it all looked fine but it has to be checked by a radiographer and they will then write to me to confirm the results. I burst into tears when it was done. What an idiot! Lol

One of the nurses told me as I was going to get changed back into my clothes that sometimes having the procedure done can clear any blockages that were maybe there and make it easier to concieve so not to be surprised if I fall pregnant soon. Fingers crossed she is right!

So glad it's over and done with. If anyone wants to know anything about it feel free to ask xx

So glad it was ok and not too painful, let's hope you're one of the lucky ones! Xx

So just a wee update :) now that we have had the sperm analysis, 21 day blood check, chlamydia check (which I find pointless as there was no way I had it!) and my scan done we have finally got another appointment for January  im so happy im hoping they will tell us the results of the tests and if its me then hopefully I can go on clomid. ive heard a lot about clomid and how much it helps women with pregnancy so fingers crossed x

Good luck yummymummy

I've got the docs tomorrow to see if they can tell me anything as never heard back after my hsg which was over 6 weeks ago now!

Thanks everyone I will keep you all updated

However just curious does anyone know what will happen next? What happens once you have all these tests and need to go back?

Any advice greatlly appreciated :)

I'm not sure as I'm at about the same stage as you but I guess it's about discussing options and choosing which route to take x

Hey,
Any room for a newbie to this thread? I'm TTC #2 for the last 2 years. Initial tests came back fine for me, but husband has very low sperm count and what he does have, isn't very good. We have our next appointment mid January to discuss further options for us. I am all new to this and have no idea what will be next or what route it will go down. We conceived #1 without any help or problems however everyone is now asking when #2 will come along and now my daughter is asking for a little sister :(

Hi princess peanut, sorry about your hubby's results, it's such a shock when you've conceived one child together with no problems isn't it. Have you got him on a man vitamen? I've got mine on the zita west vitamen and vitamen boost as well as extra vit c with zinc and pycnogenol and it has improved things a good amount. Lots of ladies have had also had success with wellman so totally worth it. Good luck with the docs xx

Hi Dee,

He started on the wellman vitamins about 2 weeks ago. However he's had a really bad bug and stomach cramps the last week or so has stopped them. The symptoms started around about the same time as he started taking Wellman. He's come off them till he feels a bit better then going back on them to see if has just been a coincidence.
