16 week scan

Hi, we had the 16 week scan today and it feels like I've had a huge weight lifted off my shoulders! We had a consultant in the room who did lots of measurements (re confirmed he's a boy) showed us his little heart (all 4 valves beating away) and answered a few questions. We then saw the specialist midwife who I originally saw when the problems started. She explained that the chances of him having a heart problem (especially considering all we saw today) is very very small. We still have been booked in for a scan in 2 weeks to see a cardio specialist and will have another extra scan at 28 weeks (yay!) but alls good such a happy bunny! We also brought MIL who's never seen a scan before and she had an amazing time. The best bit? He was sucking his thumb!!!! See pics below!

Fantastic news hun!!! he is adorable! i love when they suck their thumb! my LO was sucking its thumb at 16w scan too lol never seen a baby do that before!

glad they are still giving you extra scans etc even though the chances of a defect are low now xx
