16 week midwife appointment!

Got my 16 week MW appt a week today so im looking forward to meeting her for the first time! Can anyone tell me what actually happens at this appointment usually as I have no idea??

At mine she took my blood pressure, checked my urine, felt my stomach and listened to the baby's heartbeat (although she did say that they don't always lilsten to the heartbeat at 16wks because it can be difficult to find)

I asked a couple of questions and that was about it. That's what my last appointment was like too! I think that's pretty much all they do.

Most standard appointments they check your blood pressure/ask for a urine sample (I get an empty sample bottle ever appointment to try and remember to fill and take with me to the next appointment!). They'll often have a feel of your tummy and listen for the heartbeat.

If it's your first appointment with her then she might take blood.

These appointments are your chance to ask questions so if there's anything you want to know (even if it seems silly) just ask!
