16 week check

I have my sixteen week check next week, though I will be nearing 17!! I haven't thought about things going wrong of late as I have been quite moody or happy, depending of course... but all of a sudden i am worrying about the appointment and worried something will be wrong.. I haven't worried for about three weeks about bump.. I know it needs to be done, but I actually don't want to go to the appointment.. I think I am scared, normal? I am just enjoying being pregnant.. and want things to be okay, of course.. x

It's normal hun don't worry! the early weeks of pregnancy when you are not feeling baby and are not 100% sure what to expect are worrying times.

Your 16 week appt is just routine - they check you urine, BP, if you want your 3 blood tests to check for problems with baby it will most prob be done at this appt too (although I know some people have it done at the 12 week scan). They check how you are feeling and your mood - if you are lucky they may listen to Heartbeat - although most don't till later on due to causing worry for you if they cannot find it.

You'll be fine hun and the feeling is perfectly normal, you just get yourself worked up not knowing what to expect and wonder why you were like that after the appointment, as Miss says it is a normal routine appointment and they may even try to hear bab's heartbeat at this one but depends on the MW x

I have had all my bloods at my last scan... mm I think its the whole baby heartbeat thing that bothers me more than anything at the moment.. and my midwife has left!!

i had mine at 17 weeks and it was nothing - she checked my urine, asked me if i was ok and that was it! Like others have said its just routine really, nothing to worry about hun x
