Not sure what to do, I have my next mw appointment on 2nd April for my 16 week check up but I will be 14 weeks and 3 days. Will this make a lot of difference?

I am thinking maybe I should rearrange it for a week later or something?

hmm im not sure. my app had to be between 15 and 16 weeks as i was being tested for downs and spinabifida.

best to speak to your midwife and find out

To be honest my 16 week appointment (I was 15+6) was a waste of time. Blood pressure, urine tested for sugars and asked if I had any questions. They will re-book you for another appointment if they wanted to test for something specific but no harm in questioning the early appointment date, might be a clerical error and all counties seem to work so differently.....mind you your in the same county as me!!

It really depends if your having blood tests for spina bifida and downs because you have to be 15-18 weeks. They cant take the blood before that. Check with your MW

I have already had my nuchal fold scan and blood test to see how much at risk I am for having a baby with downs - came back at 1 in 15,000 chance.

I think it really is just a check up and not much else but just seems really difficult to actually get through to my midwife and ask

I had the nuchal scan and bloods at 12 weeks and it came back such a slim chance....the 16 week appointment, for me, was just a quick check over and told to be sure to still use the GP's services outside of actual MW appointments. Are you under care at Sussex County? If so call their antenatal unit directly on 01273 696955 or the community midwives (between 9am and 3pm) on 01273 664794. You can also call the labour ward directly with any questions regarding pains or if you can't get hold of anyone on 01273 664793

I think you might want to check this out with your hospital or MW. It would be a shame to waste the appointment or have to go twice in 2 weeks.

i would check with midwife, following on advice from the other mums who have already posted.. i had my nuchal tests done at 19 weeks, i thought i would be too late but came back, 1 in 40,000 chances wahoo
