Hi ladies my lo is 1 week old today and cries all throughout the night. He will settle lovely in his basket through the day but come his 10pm feed all hell breaks loose. Last night he was crying from 10 till 4 with no let up. At this point my hubby put him on his chest and he slept till 6 when my daughter woke us up. We tried his ewan, an item of my clothes, cellulars vs gro bags, rocking, feeding... Nothing works! Im not comfortable with him sleeping with us as im so paranoid even after looking at safe cosleeping methods.

Any tips? Im ok atm as obv have hubby to help but worried about him going back to work! I cant sleep in the day as i have my daughter to care for.

Oh, also he is constantly arching his back, pulling legs up... Very windy and burpy. Could this be colic? Any advice would be great thanks ladies x

It all sounds like colic to me. Crying for hours, arching back, pulling legs up. The fact he slept better on his front.

I'd talk to your HV or GP about it - or the midwives if you've got any visits coming up. They're all there to help.

You don't say if you are breast or bottle feeding? My daughter screamed loads at night in the start. Turned out she was still hungry.

Have you looked at the snuz pod or chicco next to me? I have a snuz pod and swear by it. My daughter thinks she is with is all the time.

How long do you leave him before putting him down at night after the feed? We.always leave our Lo upright at least an hour for bedtime and make sure she is comfortably asleep before putting her down.

Does sound like could be colic or wind too though. Have you raised the mattress as all to with a towel or something? ?

Thanks ladies! He is ff. I have raised his mattress but it didnt help. I dont think we leave him upright long enough after feeds so will def try that!

Also looking at a poddlepod, anybody have experience with it?

Another thing to consider is their teet size. A teet that's too small/slow can cause them to suck a lot of extra wind when feeding.

The sleepyhead is amazing for this! I swear by mine x x

Definitely sounds like colic. All brilliant advice from the other ladies and try winding 2-4 times throughout the feed.

I also agree with the teats, we had to change bottles a couple of times, now on a mix of tommee tippee bottles and lanisoh. i found the advent ones made her really windy but every baby is different.

My little boy was very windy and would only sleep on us for the first six weeks. He then sort of slept in his carry cot for five weeks then I started co sleeping.

He used to like to sleep on our chests on his front in the frog position. Swaddling helped and eventually he would sleep in the swaddle up in his carrycot.

We used to take it in turns to sleep so from 8pm Id sleep after his feed then wed swap.after his next feed and so on. It was the only way we could sleep but it did get better.

Sounds very similar to my dd2. I found a poddlepod really useful in those early weeks, it's the only thing she would sleep well on other than us!

11 til 3 for us at newborn stage. The only place she slept was her bouncer x

Poddle pod was amazing for my daughter. At that age she just wanted to be held all the time and the poddle pod combined with being swaddled and Ewan worked well for her. Those three combined were just amazing and really gave us a fab sleeper once we got that combo.

It does sound like colic :-( My son had this. We used Cow & Gate Comfort formula and Colief which helped calm his symptoms down a bit. Also used anti-colic bottles, infaco, the works as he was a screamer.

Agree it definitely sounds like colic. Try infacol (need to give it a good week or so and give it religiously before each feed). I'd also buy some anti colic bottles x
