After seeing Suzies thread ands watching how clean is your house last night, was wondering if anyone could share their cleaning tips, especially money saving ones.

eg. using water, vinegar and newspaper for cleaning mirrors and glass

I use dishwasher powder to clean the oven hobs. Even better if it's the tablets. I spray anti-bac cleaner on it then rub the powder in and the dirt comes right off! I do this regular coz i'm a very messy cook!

YAY i loveeeeeee cleaning. Lol.

for tea stains in the bottom of cups - salt and a little water, leave for a few minutes, rub and tadaaaaa (though didn't work with one that had been stained for a long while

(from other thread) : half water half white vinegar to clean inside your microwave
and to deodorise your microwave put some slices of lemon and hot water in a microwavable bowl for a few minutes on high -lemony fresh!

to unblock sinks tip some soda crystals down your sink followed by some boiling water

Use a real ostritch feather duster, it has static properties so pulls in the dust, doesn't just move it around. Every now and then give it a good shake outdoors. Also as its so flexible and light you don't need to move ornaments to dust around them as it won't knock them over.

Only problem is keeping the cat from trying to 'kill' it

also I second the the soda crystals down the blocked sink.

Use a little white vinegar instead of fabric softener, it softens clothes and also does the same job as calgon in your washing machine so double bonus. (although be carefull if you live in a hard water area and have used your machine for years without calgon or vinegar, if you suddenly start using either you may find chunks of limescale will start coming off and blocking your outlet pipe)

use wd-40 mixed with water to get finger prints off stainless steel. :D
