yay getting our loft conversion done!!

i m so excited, had a guy over this weekend to take all the measurements so he can prepare the drawings for planning

if all goes well we should hopefully be able to get the builders to start in june!! be really fab to get it all done this year before we think about trying for another munchkin this winter, then at least i know they can both have their own rooms.

waited four years to get this done and now i dont know if i can wait 3 months hmmm might have to start a book of decorating ideas to keep me happy till then!

Oh how exciting I would love a loft conversion

We're hopefully getting a kitchen extension this year, our plans have been sent in to the council and they will tell us this week if we need planning permission or not...hopefully not so we can get started asap.

how exciting, we are also hoping to have an extension this summer, there was already a huge kitchen extension here with a flat roof, so we are proposing to have 2 bedrooms built on top of the kitchen.

had the architech round 2 wks ago to measure up so hopefully the plans will be done soon so we can then put in for planning.

How cool & exciting will be a pain while its being done but will be worth it when its all finished Jamie & I will come & inspect it when its done

sounds like its the year for extensions then!

Nicki thats the only part i am dreading - shouldnt be too bad as we are having the garage rebuilt so that the roof can be extended over it to give us a bigger space in the loft (subject to planning of course!) so once thats done they can access the loft from there and not come therough the house till its almost done and they put the stairs in.

still not looking forward to the noise but at least if its summer me & Alex can take ourselves off to the park or town if it gets too much

once its done then alex can have a play room till we have another baby - so Jamie is more than welcome to come and play anytime!

Our loft space is just too low for a conversion, but we have thought about taking out the ceiling and exposing the beams (its a timber house) in the bedroom, maybe with some kind of mezzanine. Got a lot of other stuff to do first though so maybe in a few years
