WTF is this.

My period was 3 weeks late. The whole time, pregnancy tests are negative. On day 22 after expected start date, it appears to be a period. Flow is constant, pretty heavy, bright red. It lasted for 1 day. Then there was a day with no bleeding at all. After that, dark brown spotting for a couple days. A test is still reading as negative. I have a dr appt next week, but I am curious as to thoughts of what people think is going on?

Periods before this have always been within a day or 2 of expected date.

I don't think it could be implantation bleeding because the bleeding was red and heavy?

You might have had an anovulatory cycle or changed your eating habits, had a lot of stress, had an hormonal imbalance or something. There are lots of reason why your period can be late or be odd.
Hope the doctor can shed some light.
