I've been really delayed getting a first appointment sorted with my MW, but my doppler arrived today and I literally just put it to my skin and heard the HB straight away :)

It was definitely the bubbas as I checked with my own which was obviously slower. I'm kind of in shock, as I've not actually had a scan or anything so it's still difficult to believe - maybe seeing is believing!?

Anyway I definitely recommend getting a doppler. :)

Sorry, bit of a random thread but thought I'd share some good news :)

Awww, so glad you got the hb :) It really is the best sound in the world :)
Glad it works for you hun, it is so reassuring

I know, such an amazing sound :) I've had really bad cramps yesterday so was concerned, glad I'm feeling more reassured now. :D

How lovely! I can't wait till I get far enough along to start using my doppler!

Oh i so want one too.
OH thinks it'd make me worry more though ??? !

How far along should you be before you use a doppler? Really want to get one, will be 9 weeks tomorrow x

Well they say you can hear the HB with the doppler from 12 weeks but I've heard of people hearing from 7 weeks+. The heartbeat is beating from 6 weeks so I think it just depends on how faint it may be when you try to hear. At 9 weeks I would definitely say you could hear it.

Quartz, my OH was the same but I ignored him and bought it anyway! lol. I think as long as you don't pin all your hopes on hearing through it then you won't freak out. I did it and already told myself I was certain I wouldn't hear anything, however pretty much straight away I did. I read online a lot of tips for the best way to get results which helped me find the HB straight away, make sure you use enough lubricant, I used baby oil and that worked fine. Also the LO will be lower than you probably think so try around your hairline down there as that's the best place. Also listen to HB's on YouTube if you're unsure how fast/what it should sound like so you can match with what you hear :)
The second time I tried about an hour after I tried the first time I couldn't find it (I gave up within 30 seconds though.)

You should only do it for about 10 mins a day max, but I'm going to make sure I don't do it every day just once or twice a week to make me feel better when I can't feel movement :)
