Would they change my dates?

A few of you may remember that when I went for my 16 week check up with the midwife I said that baby was appearing to be two weeks bigger than my dates according to fundal height.

I have my 20 week scan on 23rd Aug and im wondering, if the baby still appears to be bigger than its dates will they change my dates, or do they only do that at 12 week scans?

the scan at 12 weeks is so sccurate that they will not change your dates even if you were measuring 4 weeks bigger.
I am measuring 2 weeks bigger and if i continue i have beren told ill have to go for a growth scan to scheck size of baby. Its coz i wasn't sure of my dates either.

At 16 weeks its quite normal to measure bigger coz baby is growing at a faster rate than at my dates for example. Your baby may have just had a grwoth spurt at the time and next time you go may be measuring right size.

Don';t worry though becasue if you do continue measuring bigger thye will keep a close eye of you and induce you early if necessary.

You have your 20 weeks scan yet and at that one if baby seem really big they will tell you and act accordingly.

they didnt change mine last time hun i had a scan at 22 wks and baby was measuring 24 wks and they left it as it was xxx

Ah I see, tbh, I didnt think they would but just wanted to check. Dont really want to have to go round telling everyone my dates had changed! We will just have to see what happens at the scan. Roll on scan!

When is your scan Jaidy? I bet you can't wait to find out if its pink or blue! That was the best day of my pregnancy, I was sure itb was a boy and when I found out it was a girl I had an overwhelming feeling of joy

Its on the 23rd of this month.... only 11 days to go and counting

i dont think they would change your dates cause they normally do all that at 12 weeks

there on about changing my dates!! they said that my EDD has to be reassessed as at that scan at 16 weeks the baby was defo measuring at more than my dates....

jade the baby won;t come any sooner no matter if your dates are put forward or back. It will come when its ready.

Oh no im not worried at all when the baby comes hun, like you said when it comes it comes lol

Its just you say they wont change my dates and Lozzi says they may change hers and I was a bit confused!!

Il just wait and see what happens at the scan

my dates are to be "reassessed" at my 20week, they checked the head cirumference and thigh bone numerous times and it measured that i was a week ahead, so they said that they wont change it officially until my 20 weeks scan. but they are looking at officially changing it

but yeah as budge says, the baby will come when it wants to come regardless of the dates which our health professionals set!

Oh yeah I know that, they are there for 'guidance' but not always the best guide are they lol.....it isnt many that come on their due date is there!
