Would she sound like a granny?!

Id like to give my baby an old fashioned name, I like Elsie for a girl. The old fashioned names are very popular now anyway, Violet is pretty x

I love, love, love Violet. (it's also my grandmothers name (the grandma I'm less close to than my granny))

But, as I said on another thread, my husband's reponse when I told him this was: "Oh, sorry. I didn't realise that we were having a 75 year old."

I really like the name Violet - it is an 'old fashioned' name, but these are definitely back in fashion - look at all the Ava's, Edie's and Esme's we have now - not to mention the Ruby's!! Definitely prefer these names to Mercedes and Coco's!! xxx

Violet is lovely :) I hadn't ever thought of the name but it's really sweet! I would defs use it :)

My friends 2 year old is Violet. I think its so cute. She does get called vi a lot so you'll have to consider that bit :) xx

yeah, i do think Vi does sound a bit old ladyish. but Violet is lovely.

Violets a lovely name, my partner wanted our little girl to be called lily.. wasnt so keen on it at first cos i did thinkit sounded like an old womens name.. but as i kept saying it over and over i began to love it,,, shes nearly 8 months old now and im soo glad i chose that name.. Old fashioned names are back in now so go for it! :)

I LOVE Violet! (Don't love Vi though. I'd be OK calling her "V" perhaps.)
