OH and i been thinking of names recently and were pretty sure we will have another boy and cant aggree on ANY boys names atall.
so we moved on to girls names just incase and i told him i really liked the name Violet and this was my nanas name aswell so would like to use it. He suggested it as a middle name but my niece is Hannah Violet so wouldnt want to do that. He said although he doesnt hate it its 2 old for a first name and she would sound like a granny. I know its old but i think its really pretty, what do you think, would she hate it growing up? x

Traditional names are back in, Violet is lovely!!

I don't think it's an old sounding one! My nans are Hilda and Eileen both old sounding names that I wouldn't use as a first name which is a shame!!

my great aunt was violet and my sister is Amy Violet Elizabeth, which I think is really pretty. Pollyanna I think is a lovely name but everyone says it's too old. xXxXxXx

I really like it old names are deffinatly back in :) xx

I quote from the film Willy Wonka, "You're turning Violet, Violet!" Ahah

I think it's a pretty name, never met an old person in my life called Violet. Besides, it wouldn't matter anyway right? Because it's a pretty name :) I love the name Eileen, after my Grandmother. Doubt I'd ever use that name as a first name though.

We are giving the name Eileen to our daughter as her middle name after my nan,it's also my mums name aswell although we are giving her the name because of my nan as she isnt here anymore!

The girl in coyote ugly is called violet :)

Thanks, made me feel better about it and can tell OH how wrong he is lol. I'll definately be pushing for it trying to talk him around! x

Get him to watch coyote ugly :)

I wish I could use my Grandmother's names, lol, Maisie Ellen and Queenie Mavis..... Best of the bunch 'Maisie' my cousin has already used.

How about all six of Queenie's sisters: Ethel, Marie, Frances, Joan, Doreen and Beryl!!! lol

My poor Mum and her sister ended up as Marilyn Joan and Gillian Mavis *shudder* Luckily I only got lumbered with Lucy Marie ;)

Maisie was my girls name when i had Ethan! i love it. Its nice to use a family name but violet is definately the best choice we have, the rest r Betty, Mona and Agnes! x

i think its a lovely name, and yes old fashioned names are back in! xx
