Tuesday morning I started coming down with a cold. I had to nip into work first thing, then take my son to see asthma specialist. Was a long day as he had to have several tests & a chest X-ray. I knew I was coming down with a cold as I was rapidly going downhill! I noticed little lady hadn't moved much but put this down to me being busy!
On the way home I got wet through as it was p*ssing it down & I don't have a maternity coat :( we finally got in at 4. I grabbed a hot chocolate and took my ass to bed! I nodded on and off through out the evening then when hubby came to bed around 10 I fell asleep properly. I had felt Lillianne move an odd time. I slept through till 10am next morning  anyway I got up & grabbed some breakfast & went back to bed. Lillianne kicked a couple of times through out the day but nothing much. I got up around 4 as I was feeling a bit better. Lillianne still wasn't kicking. Last night I started feeling really crap again, so sent my boss a message saying I wouldn't be in this morning. Last night I felt her move around a little but not kick, so Ash put his hand on my stomach as she always goes crazy when he does, but she didn't :( I have been awake since 4 this morning, she has kicked once and I have felt her move a little. Could she be feeling the affects of my cold??
I don't know whether to ring midwife or not as she told me if she doesn't move much I should get checked out as I am high risk pre-eclampsia. But she has moved, just nowhere near as active as usual.

Sorry for the long post :( x x x

I would give the midwife a call just in case but I do find when I'm feeling poorly bubs goes quieter

I've had two colds during my pregnancy and bubs went quiet each time. My MW said it probably does affect them. Hope you're feeling better soon.

Thanks girls. I've spoke to hubby, gonna wait till this afternoon & if she's still quiet I'm gonna call midwife & see what she says x x

I had a cold come on yesterday afternoon, and i noticed a definate decrease in movements last night, still getting them just not as strong. I lay on my left hand side in bed and i noticed before i fell asleep that they got stronger. Baby is moving a bit this morning but I feel he's quieter. I'm gonna keep an eye on it today but i am already starting to feel better so hopefully he will be a bit more active.

My LO also went quiet when I had a cold last week, try drinking a cold drink or a sweet drink it usually gets them moving if you're worried. I think it prob does affect them in the sense that your body is trying to look after you, the baby and on top of that fight off the cold so maybe the baby just gets less energy given to them?

Thank you so much ladies. I woke up just before 5 this morning as hubby was getting up for work, went to pee (I seem to live on the loo at the mo ) and got back in bed, I was feeling loads better in myself! And within minutes of me getting back in bed Lillianne was kicking away  I was so happy I cried  bloody hormones

I guess getting a cold does affect our LO's :( Will have to try and wrap myself up in cotton wool from now on!

Thanks again ladies :hugs: x x
