Hi there everyone
been a while since i posted but we are still ttc after all this time. think we are on month 20 now and still nothing.
OH got referred the other day for a semen analysis as its been so long. we had prepared ourselves for the worst as its been so long and because OH had been warned of possible problems when he was much younger. well we got a call from the docs to say they wanted him to do another test. we hoped as it was so quick that there had been contamination to the test or something silly. but we were soo wrong. both tests came back as NO MOVEMENT. not a flicker.
so i guess thats our chances destroyed now as there will be no options for us with no sperm at all. :( we are both devistated and finding things very hard. hoping to make an appt with a doc just to discuss the results further and see if there is anymore tests or things they can do. but doc made it fairly clear that there was probably nothing to be done.
how do you even begin to get your head around never having another baby again?! my lil lady wants a brother or sister and my daughter isn't my partners so we soo wanted one together

I'm so sorry to hear that! Hope you figure something out!

:hugs:

Sorry to hear that, i cant even begin to imagen how you are feeling right now. :hugs: Hope you find a solution hun xx

Hiya Puzzle - i'm sorry you are feeling so defeated

There is still ICSI available to you if yo can afford it, but if not i find it hard to believe that your partner can create one baby but not another.

Maybe you need to look very hard at his lifestyle?

Is he overweight? Is he idle? Does he work in a high stesss environment? Does he smoke? Drink alcohol? Drink caffiene? Have bad hygiene? Spend a lot of time sitting maybe on the computer? Does he eat a lot of sugar?

Don't be scared of pushing from a second opinion with a male fertility consultant because they may have some more suggestions?

I'm sorry you have to go through this :(

Sorry to hear your news. Personally I would not see this as the end and I would definitely get a 2nd opinion. LouiseB has written some really good questions, a change in lifestyle could possibly improve things!! Best wishes!! x

ICSI Will not be available to us, by there is no movement at all we got told means there is no sperm at all. Therefore no sperm to be able to do any sort of fertility treatment with. We are off next week to get all this confirmed though but that is what the doc has led us to believe. That he literally has no swimmers at all.
If u see original post my daughter isn't his he hasn't fathered any children.
Thanks everybody for your kind words, just wish we had something better to work with. :(

Thanks for the advice, we are going for a 2nd opinion and still have repeat tests to do. But 2 have shown no sperm at all and my partner has already made a lot of lifestyle changes about 9 months ago. He doesn't drink, or smoke, he's pretty active, not overweight, wears lose boxers, even been taking lots of vitamins and supplements to try and help.
He has very small testicles and was warned as a teenager that this could cause problems in the future.

I just started to think a bit. Even though his sperm tests show no movement he could have what it takes, only that there something blocking the sperm to get out?? Has he had a scan? Because I know that they can figure out more if they do a scan of him as well. I really hope you find a solution!!

xx

Oh you mean no movement as in dead? I thought you meant not moving forward :(

Sorry a mustn't have seen the bit where he hadn't fathered any kids.

Are they not going to look into invasive diagnostics?

Awww Puzzle I am so sorry to hear this.

I dont know if it helps but I watched a program the other day about a specialist doctor in the states who specializes in IVF and infertility, apparently people from all over the world visit him. On the show one of the couples he was treating was in the same situation as you, the man had a zero sperm count but this doctor had come up with this procedure in which he takes a piece of tissue from the mans testicles and he is able to get fresh sperm from the tissue sample, not many 1 or 2 but as he was saying you only need one good sperm.

I hope they are able to offer you something at your appointment xxxx

That must be a terrible day when you get news like that , yes second opinions are needed and vickyxx has just given hope even if there is no sperm , i do hope you get good news at a second opinion and (((hugs)))

Just got back from our appointment at the doctors and had it confirmed that my partners test results do both show, No sperm at all!! So that's that. Thanks for all your support on and off for the last 20 months.
