WORRIED - had some pink discharge

Well as the title says really.

Went to the loo about an hour ago and had pink discharge on my knickers (i had white knickers on) and it had also gone through to my PJ's, also had it a bit when i wiped. I went and rang the maternity ward straight away and they asked the usual questions, is it bright red? have you had intercourse in the last 24 hours?, have you had any pain?

Well it wasn't bright red and i ahevn't had intercourse but i did have a little period type pain earlier but it wasn't bad and i have had ti before so didnt think anything of it.

Anyway she said tehre is not a lot they can do really and said to ring back if it turns bright red or i get any pain.

Has anyone had this before, im really worried as i haven't had this in previous pregnancies. I only saw my babys heart beat on my scan on thursday wjhat if there is something wrong?

Oh hun,
I don't know what to say. I'd panic if i were you i know how u feel. try to relax in bed as much as possible and lift ur feet up on a pillow.. Where i live they have emergency ward and stuff so i would ask for an emergency scan! but not sure how it is over there. try and relax and ask for a scan if possible...

hey everyone, firstly idlike to thnak you for your lovely comments.

I just got back from GP unit, maternity hosp wouldn't see me as im under 20 weeks, they told me to go to a+e or GP unit.

i'll go through quicly what happened, after my 1st post i put Olivia to bed and i felt something come out down below, so i went to the toilet and cheaked an there was bright red blood on my knickers, i had a wee and looked down the loo and the water was red. I automatically paniced and phone DH from a photography job he was doing and also phoned my mum. I rang the maternity unit back who told me to goto GP unit. So i put a pad on and waited for DH. I'd also had a bit of period pain but nothing too painful.

We got to the GP unit and i needed a wee again so went and there was link blood on my pad and when i wiped there was nothing so i wondered what the hell was going on.

Anyway saw this lovely doctor and he asked me to do a wee sample which again was clear, he also did an internal and said everything was in the right place, he couldn't see any blood and there was no sign of infection, which can somtimes caurse bleeding! He also had a feel of my tummy. All is well, doctor is confident that everything is ok, he said sometimes a bleed happens and the dont know why. He said to go home an rest, do bare minimun and if there is anymore bleeding or bad pain to go back.

So here i am, i feel a lot better but still a bit worried incase the bleeding comes back, i have never had this before so i suppose i just paniced.

awww hun im so so so glad everything is ok!! the little people do like to give us a scare dont they!

i had the exact same thing a week to the day after my 12 week scan, scared the hell out of me, but just as quick as it started it stopped

Hey hun

I had pinkish discharge which didn't get any worse at 9 weeks and again at 15 weeks with my little one.

My sister in law bled a lot at 12 weeks with her DD and she is now a happy healthy bouncing 4 month old. The doc told her the exact same thing - they don't know why she bled but the cervix etc can be very vascular during pregnancy and sometimes even mild activity can set off a bleed.

awww tnx everyone i knew i could rely on you all to put my mind at rest a little!

Didn't sleep too well last night kept going to the loo and cheaking , still having AF type cramps but they any better or any worse than before just like a niggly pain so thats a good thing. i think i will be keeping a pad on for the next couple of days just incase.

How worrying for you sweetie you must have been so scared

You totally did the right thing by going to get yourself checked out. I had bleeds at 21 ish weeks and a bit later on in pregnancy with Zachary and all was fine. You say the bleeding has stopped now so thats a great sign. You just rest up these next few days and take it easy, it will all be fine I just know it

I had a bid of pink in my pants on Friday, so went to the doctors as I haven't even seen my midwife yet.

She did a pregnancy test and it was positive, her reaction was thats a good sign and said she would arrange a scan and send an appointment in the post. I was really worried she said that I only need to worry if its really painful and the discharge is proper red.

I'm still not convinced, so will go along to this appointment when it comes through just to check.

I'm sure everything will be ok, my discharge happened a couple of times. Haven't had anything since Saturday night (touch wood).

aww hun i know hw you feel its so worrying isnt it?

Im feeling load better now had no more bleeding and i have also spokent to a couple of people who have experienced miscarrage and kindly explained what they went through and experienced. They said they was is a LOT of pain and the bleeding got heavier and heavier. Nothing like that happened with me and im still throwing up so im feeling better.

It's funny, all the posts i have made moaning about morning sckness and i cant believe i am saying this but i am so hapy i have i now
