Hi ladies. Im worried i havent put on enough weigh, as ive gained 11.6 lbs and the online calculator i used says i should be at nearly 4 lbs over that. Could it be that baby isnt growing properly? I eat plenty and mostly i have a healthy diet (with exceptions!). My daughter was born 8lbs 6.5oz so definitely not.small or underweight. I dont remember monitoring my weight back the though, but i live in Greece now and your weight gain is very closely monitored. I had my last scan 4 weeks ago though and no one was concerned so i guess im confused! Sorry for the ramble, im just worried (and lately i worry about everything)

Here in auatralia they don't monitor weight gain of pregnant ladies anymore as weight gain is not a very reliable sign that baby is doing alright! If you've only gained 4lbs less than what is recommended I wouldn't worry at all.

Seems to me i was much less stress when monitored loosely! Thanks for replying! I may have a touch of anxiety as well cos i find myself worrying about all sorts of things i wouldnt normally worrying about.

No worries :) Yes I think there's a fine line when it comes to just how much monitoring we need.. It can create a lot of unnecessary stress - especially when it's over something as insignificant as 4lbs of weight! If it was 40lbs, fine. I think pregnancy related anxiety is pretty common. There's a lot of horror stories out there and you can't see/talk to baby to make sure they're ok.

I've only gained 4lbs but if all looked good on scan and measurements, I wouldn't worry x

Apparently baby is growing fine so i feel much better about that :). People were saying things like "are you sure youre pregnant?" and it freaked me out!

As long as baby is growing fine that's what is important. Baby tends to take what they need before you get it too - so I'm sure they're doing brilliantly.

It's hard but weight gain isn't a good indicator really, everyone's weight gain is different.
