Hi all. I’m about 5 weeks pregnant and I can’t sleep because I’m really worried about miscarriage or having multiples!
I have a long history (12 years...no living children) of unexplained fertility and miscarriages, so naturally miscarriage is a fear, though tonight I’m really worried about multiples, particularly higher order multiples. We are hoping for one a baby, but we’d be ok with twins.
We did IUI with Clomid for this pregnancy. We did the same thing 6 months ago, had 3 follicles, got pregnant with 1, but miscarried at 10 weeks.
So this time we had 4 follicles of note which is really scary to me. Two were smaller 12mm and 14mm and the other 2 were 20mm+. The doctor didn’t seem too concerned, and since I had 3 last time and ended up with none, I decided to go with it. I recently turned 40, so not being the youngest anymore, I figured the chance of more than 1 or 2 eggs being good were pretty slim. Now I feel like I did the wrong thing.
