Work ? When to tell?

when do we need to tell our works about the pregnancy. i havent mentioned anything to work as of yet and worried im leaving it too late? is there a kind of tell by date we need to comply too, as i want to have maturnity leave but unsure of how long we can leave it?

I think the latest by law to be entitled to maternity leave and pay is 26 weeks
