hello ladies,
i just wondered if anybody has been referred to occupational health because of pregnancy? i've had super bad morning/all day sickness and have had quite a bit of time off and apparently they are referring me... and as i'm in my probationary period, they are extending that also as i have not worked enough to be given the role.
i'm so stressed about it all, i have just lost the will to work completely.
any advice ladies?
thank you xxx

they know you're pregnant right?
it sounds harsh if they do - surely that's effectively discrimination?!

If they don't know, well then i understand why they would be doing all that, as it does sound like standard protocol.

BUT if they know you're pregnant, i'd definitely look into your employment rights and what the pregnancy discrimination act is in the UK (sorry i'm in Germany, I have only researched the rights here - and if they were doing that to me - probation period or not, I'd be protected)

I sure hope you are too.
(((hugs)))
I can sure understand the lack of motivation to work, i struggled as it was without such pressure.
x

Sorry to hear you are going thru a rough time, I'm also in my probationary period at my new job luckly I haven't had any sickness ( touch wood) good idea to look up your rights tho ! Hope you get it all sorted xx

I know any sick time taken due to pregnancy related illness doesn't go on your sick record, if you get disciplinary against you then it's discrimination. Obviously work have to know your pregnant. Does sound a bit harsh being referred to occy health... Xxx

thanks ladies. they know i'm pregnant...
not received my letter from them yet as its coming through the post... will see what that says... xxx

Keep us updated sweetie, we'll support you! x

Why do work places feel the news to stress out preggie ladies?! Drives me mad. My boss found a way to get rid of me when i was but it was a unique situation. I say the same that sick time when preg does not go on record. Stand firm don't let them push you about. The only thing I think they could do if you have a certain amount of sick time they can put your mat leave forward

Hi Christy, Maybe you should try & seek legal advice because this obviously seems like sexual discrimination?
