Work have refuses my request to return to work two weeks later.

I wouldn't get too hung up on the policy wording. The issue is that you're making a request. They can refuse it even if you gave proper notice, as it's not what you agreed before leaving for mat leave. I'd say needing staff for a busy Christmas period would be a good reason to want your return from their side, and if they've got a BF policy like you've said, then you don't have a 'good reason' to argue it (good reason in terms of the negotiation of a contract I mean).

I am still bf'ing (Bee is a bottle refuser) but I am not back until she is over a year. She has an issue with cows milk - not an allergy according to GP - but she has an immediate reaction to milk, cheese and yoghurt..I didn't even think she won't be able to go to cows milk. Crap!!!

I plan to feed as long as I can and was hoping I could get into morning, evening and night feeding but I'll be going a good 8 hours in the day without feeding so not sure what I'll do?

Hi

My youngest can't drink cows' milk without it setting off her eczema, and when she was little it used to make her sick.

I breastfed, but if I wanted to give her milk (like on cereal or in a cup) I used Almond milk.

You can give almond milk from 1 year just make sure the rest of the diet is good and still breastfeed when you can (if possible).

At 1 year if you breastfeed when you are with her (morning and evening) she will be fine having water with her meals whilst you're at work :)

Hey carnat,

Some people like soya milk but it never did it for me. Neither unsweetened almond. Rice milk is tolerable but a bit thin.

However, oats milk is pretty nice e.g. Oatly - it's also fortified with calcium & stuff.

I also liked hazelnut milk but it is very sweet!

I am also not feeding baby during the day (only at night now) and I presume there is still milk coming out as he seems content with it..!
