Work and pregnancy

Hi all, I've already posted this question in general but thought I'd post in here to.

When did you all tell your work you were pregnant? Or when do you plan to?

Hey Lulabell,

I told work last week, only my manager but that's cos of where I work, (in a prison) and I could be put at risk if I carry on going on the wings. I think it depends work kind of work you do on how soon you would need to/want to tell work. If I had my way I would have waited till I had the 12 week scan, but OH would't have it!

Looking at direct gov website, you don't have to tell them until you are due in 15 weeks. So by week 25.

I had to tell work early as I use buffing machines at work usually and they are heavy against ur abdomen. But if I didn't have to I would have waited til after my 12 scan. Xx

I had to tell work straight away cos I work with radiation.

I work in a lab but because of this trip to Malaysia have avoided being in the lab before I came and when I get back I have my 12 week scan and will tell them then, and see occy health. I'll probably still only keep it to the minimum people but word will get round fast, academics are terrible gossips!

I'm waiting till after 12 weeks however I only work in an office environment and there are no risks so I figured I can just tell them whenever I want to x

Told the bosses last week at 8 weeks because I kept having to leave the office with sickness so kinda had to explain.

I'm planning on telling mine as late as possible, probably around 14 weeks if I can hide my sickness. I work in an office environment so no rush anyway but am also waiting to hear about a new job/promotion which could take a few weeks so want to get that in the bag first if poss. I went out to grab a sandwich at lunch today (Victoria, London) and puked up in the bushes around the side of my building, lovely. Hopefully no one saw me....
