wont take formula milk

hey ladies

i'm still breastfeeding but ive tried harry with a little formula as i would eventually like to switch to combi feeding but hes having none of it. he gagged until he was sick, ive tried a cup and a bottle, just got the same reaction.

Any ideas? will he eventually take it?

Ha we're the complete opposite - my Harry won't take my milk from a bottle but will take formula

When have you tried giving it him- when he's due a feed? Have you tried another brand?

I give Harry his cup when we have our tea, but not when he's really due a feed iykwim?

Then I don't feel like there's a much pressure fit him to have it xx

i thought about mixing it with my milk but not sure if you could do that?

ive tried him at feeding time and in between feeds, neither worked. going to try and get hubby to have a go tonight, i always thought he would take it for some reason, he takes my expressed milk in bottle or cup no problem, so it must be the taste, formula does stink

i have only tried aptimil so might pick up another brand, thanks ladies

its probably cos its formula, alyssa isnt that keen on it lol. cant really suggest much hun apart from that once u wean he wont want as much milk and will take juice or water out of a cup or beaker. alyssa loves things in proper cups like i drink from lol, its funny to watch. shes dropping formula feeds in favour of juice or water and eating her meals instead but bf'ing instead of having bottles

I wouldn't worry too much chick my harry is the same he'll take milk off my hubby but not off me but he'll have juic or water from a beaker can't really suggest anything as I'm having the same problem I'm just hoping he'll wean himself off me eventually

Formula is considerably sweeter than breastmilk...could be he doesn't like the sweetness? I'd try a different brand xx

I switched from aptamil to sma and he drank some of it just played with it more but at least we didn't have a screaming match x

funny you say that winnie, he took SMA from daddy last night but wont take the aptimil at all, he went crazy when tried to give it to him
