i dunno what else to do , his feed , clean, doesnt want dummy but wont stop crying ! even when holdin him the releif is short lived !

He's probably tired...lil miss gets like that...either give him a bath, or leave him to cry for a while...:) So that he tires himself out a bit... then go back and see if he will be rocked to sleep...

If its not tiredness or over stimulation... its colic and you just have to let them cry because there is lil else you can do... :( there are things that can help, walking them, massaging tummies , infacol, colief, tea but theres no cure :wall:

I used colocynth crystals for Joe. He wasnt bad with the colic but these seemed to help. Like squiglet said, he might be overtired, i dont know.
Joe was a cryer, quite a lot and its hard going when you dont know how to stop them. :(

Perhaps try a tsp of cool boiled water? Finn wouldn't stop crying earlier so I took him out for a walk - he soon falls asleep in the pushchair.

Take him out in the fresh air, it should settle him. Lily was like it last night it was a nightmare. Hope hes ok

I had this problem earlier this week- nothing would occupy her for more than a few minutes- was really stressed :(

Think it was worse because the weather was pants so we couldn't get out a walk- that normally does wonders

thanks girls , i really think his under the weather , his been sick loads last 2 days and i dont just mean when his eating either :( his finally half asleep now but still making horrid noise and suddenly jumps awake in tears ( and his actually getting tears now ! ) i think he must have really bad tummy ache

how do u ever cope with no knowing if they are ill / just winging? dunno if im ever gonna get the hang of that !

You get the hang of it, sometimes it can be difficult to know until there is something obvious. Ive often had a bad few days with Joe and thought what a wee bugger he is, then a cold appears and I feel bad as its been the cold working on him.

It sounds alot like colic to me hun

aww bless him, I hope he is ok and you

Gabs went through this and I found that laying her across my lap and tapping her back really helped. It was the only way I could sootherher.

Not sure if it was colic but I have heard that around the age babies get colic they are much more aware of their surroundings and taking a lot in and can sometimes become overstimulated. This results in them getting themselves so worked up and overtired. Not sure how true it is but it does seem to make sense.

Good luck hun

i did get him to calm down while lying on his tummy on my tummy earlier and his now been dozing in his bouncer . our bedtime routine gonna be rather late but i think he'll enjoy a nice bath and last bottle and hopefully sleep for a bit tongiht !

I can sympathise, Maia was like this for weeks and its very hard I know. I used to try everything to no avail. I'm not sure i can say anything much helpful, except it will get better.

i think most babies go through this around 6 weeks old.. although its not helpfull really.. your not alone

his had me up since 2 am  and hubbies gone to work at 8 am , wont be home till 11 pm tonight , god knows how im gonna get through today with him screaming and no sleep

Maybe you could try lying on your bed with him on your chest, your arm around his body and under his neck. You might both get some sleep, this is what I have always done with Maisie and if she moves I am aware as my arm is around her body but she rarely does and we both manage to get some sleep. :D

One suggestion I do have...Do you have a baby swing?

We got one for Maia and it was a godsend, never failed to get her to sleep. Such a relief to get a break from the screaming!
