Theo will not eat anything that is not fruit at the moment, it is a battle wills to get veggies in his mouth as he just clamps it tightly shut, i try not to give in and just give him fruit as he is a very clever little boy and im sure he is learning that if he holds out for long enough he'll get fruit. dont get me wrong im thrilled that he loves fruit so much, but i know that it is becuase it is sweet. and i really want him to start eating all the other foods i am giving him. he sometimes well eat some of the savory meals, but i have to trick him with the whole "spoon being a choo choo train" ect ect..
i have tried all the sweet veggies - squash - sweet potato - swede ect ect. but nope. hes not having any of it!!!
does anyone have an tips???

I assume from his age it is purees you are giving him. If so, mix fruit and veg. Start with mostly fruit and a bit of veg then gradually over a couple of weeks have less fruit / more veg in the mix. Once he seems to be going well with mostly veg try just veg and if that works reintroduce the idea of fruit on its own.

I'd ditto the above.

As someone who has done lots of puree and spoon feeding I'd be wary of the tricking him into eating something. It can start of a bad association with being spoon fed and not just with veggies. I'd be inclined to go with the flow. If he doesn't eat it, then don't stress.

Why not load the spoon and let him grab it and put it in his mouth? Thats what we did when we started BLW with LO and he was eating porridge and yogurt. Now he more or less feeds himself.

Or get two spoons, one for im and one for you that you load and pop in his mouth when he is ok for you to.

Don't forget that milk is still his main source of nutrition till he is a year old, so his eating food atm isn't a must. Its all about learning, tasting and having a bit of fun.

Another vote for mixing here :) Apple & Carrot, avocado and banana are classics. Beetroot/pear, sweet potato/papaya, apple/spinach/pear, the list is endless.
