Hello,

I was put under and had my wisdom teeth removed on September 7th. After the procedure, I have been taking 500mg of Ibuprofen every 5 hrs and the past two days have been taking 200-400mg every 6 -7 hrs. (After finding out I am pregnant, I have stopped taking pain medication and have been dealing with the pain)

I was feeling a bit different this past week with very sore breasts (My period should have started around today so I expected it) and frequent urination. I was worried that I was pregnant, especially after having surgery and taking medicine, so I took a test this morning (My first day of my last period was August 13th) and it was positive!

I called to set up a prenatal appointment but they said I should get insurance or else I will have to pay a few thousand dollars up front. I've applied for insurance and should hear back in about 10 days, so I will be able to schedule an appoint after.

Anyways, I guess I am wondering how much this surgery and medicine use could have affected the pregnancy and in what ways? I know I'll probably have to wait and see when I meet with a professional, but I'm just looking to ease my mind a bit for the next week or so.

Thank you for any help!

Hi Memao , welcome and congratulations!

Hate to say it but it will most likely e a waiting game for you to find out if all is ok. They say ibuprofen can increase the chan e of miscarriage but I know women who have taken it unknowingly and been fine.

I had an operation under general with my firs baby (at 5 weeks pregnant) and all was fine with me.

Fingers crossed all is well and your insurance comes through soon so you can get your appointment.
