I always thought that breast fed baby's got little wind.... however, Oscar seems to be very bothered during every feed, gulping down air and having to stop and burp every 5 minutes.

He also gets the farts really bad and sounds like a man when he blows off lol. I'm sure it gives him a lot of pain too. (also he poo's in EVERY nappy, which I'm sure is normal, but I don't remember my girls doing that. Must be a boy thing!!)

I was thinking, do you think that it could be something I'm eating that is upsetting his tummy? Are there things you can eat/drink that is supposed to be gentle for them??

any ideas would be appreciated x

Hi Amy,

I was exclusively breastfeeding as well and my DD had quite a bit of wind. The food you eat has definitely an effect on the baby's digestion. I know for sure that i. e. broccoli made it really bad for her. My life saver was baby stomach ease tea. It contains fennel and camomile. I used to drink it myself and you pass the effect on through your milk. It made a huge difference and my little girl was much more calm had less wind.

Jasper has this, alot of it is to do with how fast your milk come out! mine is like a fire hydrant sometimes!!!

i find if i feed him with him above my boob rather than below it, he doesnt get so much wind, so rather than sitting down and leaning forward, i lean back and plonk him ontop of the boob with his legs much higher (like just under me other boob) and he seems to like that more :)

That sounds like it's worth a try. Will see if it makes any difference x

It would make sense that the tea works, Gripe Water has fennel in it :) Must look it up x
